How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 130

As Yvan focused on the man's face, his eyes narrowed.

He recognized him. It was Owen Turner, the heir to Apex Systems and his old rival.

Owen had also been a student at Zion Pinecrest Preparatory School, where the two of them had been the top dogs.

There wasn't room for two kings, and Owen, irritated by Yvan's aloofness, had deliberately provoked him. A fight had broken out.

In the end, Owen was forced to transfer schools while Yvan faced no consequences.

Owen had held a grudge ever since.

Things were quiet through high school and college, as they were far apart. But when Yvan went abroad for university, he ended up at the same school as Owen. From then on, Owen took every opportunity to cause him trouble.

Whenever they crossed paths, they exchanged glares.

To make matters worse, after Yvan founded Cedar Rock Capital, Owen immediately established Harvest Peak Partners, constantly trying to steal his clients and sabotage his efforts.

Yvan, pushed to his limit, had finally made a major move that bankrupted Owen's company. With Owen out of the way, Cedar Rock Capital began to thrive, eventually going public.

After Yvan returned to the country, he hadn't seen Owen again.

He had assumed he was still abroad, but here he was, at his mother's birthday party.

Owen must have said something funny, because Winifred was actually smiling.

He watched as she took out her phone, apparently exchanging contact information with Owen.

A suffocating feeling tightened in Yvan's chest.

She was willing to give her number to a man she'd just met, while he'd had to get hers through David.

Did she hate him that much? Or was she just blind? How could a scumbag like Owen possibly compare to him?

"Mr. Brown, what are you looking at?" A glamorous woman sidled up to him, her body pressing close.

"I see." Owen stroked his chin. "I hear you're a doctor. What's your specialty? Ms. Spencer? Ms. Spencer?"

"Huh? What?" Winifred snapped back to attention.

"You seemed to be a little distracted," Owen said with a knowing smile.

"I'm sorry," Winifred said, flustered. She suddenly stood up. "Excuse me, I need to use the restroom."

She turned and hurried away.

Owen watched her go, a playful look in his eyes.

This Ms. Spencer was different from the women he usually encountered. She had a quiet melancholy, like a night-blooming cereus.

He wondered what her relationship with Yvan really was. From the look in her eyes just now, it didn't seem like they were mere acquaintances.
