How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 150

After several rounds of drinks and courses, Lester turned to Yvan. "Yvan, you're twenty-seven this year, aren't you?"

"That's right. His birthday is right after the new year. He'll be twenty-eight soon," Monica answered for him.

"Are you dating anyone?" Lester asked.

Yvan's expression faltered for a moment. "No."

"How about I introduce you to someone?" Lester smiled. "You've met Teresa, haven't you? She's my older brother's youngest daughter. What do you think of her?"

An awkward silence fell over the Brown family members at the table. They all looked at Yvan, waiting to see how he would respond.

They all knew he had failed to win back Winifred and was in a foul mood lately.

Yvan slowly picked up a napkin and wiped his fingers. "She's quite a bit younger than me, isn't she? I only see her as a little sister."

Lester chuckled. "Teresa's not that much younger. She's twenty this year. An eight-year age gap isn't that big a deal for a couple. The important thing is, she really likes you. If you're interested in her too, I can set something up."

Yvan's brow furrowed slightly. "That won't be necessary. I have no intention of getting married right now, so I shouldn't waste her time."

Violet chimed in with a laugh. "Yvan, you're almost twenty-eight. If you're not considering it now, when will you?"

"Exactly," Lester added. "This is the perfect age to start a family. I hear you're not working at the Brown Group at the moment, but have started your own investment firm. As it happens, my brother is an expert in that field. If you were to marry Teresa, it would be…"

Monica tried to smooth things over. "Ahem, kids these days are different. They all have their own ideas. I've given up on managing Yvan's love life. Who he chooses, when he chooses—I'm not getting involved anymore. I can't."

"Now, you can't mean that," Violet said. "What if Yvan brings home some B-list celebrity? Would you approve of that?"

Monica replied, "Our family has never been that concerned with social status. As long as the person Yvan chooses is a good person, I don't care if she's a celebrity or an ordinary girl. If he loves her, I'll approve."

Violet was unconvinced. "I still believe that marrying within one's social class is important. Girls from humbler backgrounds, leaving aside the fact that you'd be supporting them, simply don't have the same perspective as those raised in families like ours. Yvan is going to take over the Brown Group one day. Having a proper wife to support him would make everything much smoother. Don't you agree?"

Monica glanced at Yvan and gave an awkward smile. "That may be true, but in the end, it depends on who our children fall in love with. If they're not happy, there's nothing we can do."

Violet was a proactive person. "Then they just need to meet more people until they find the right one. I know several unmarried young women, all of them excellent girls from good families. Yvan, how about I introduce you to a few?"
