How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 239

Winifred tried her best to walk normally, but the moment she entered her department, someone noticed something was off.

"Winifred, what's wrong with your leg? Why are you limping?" Lily was the first to spot it.

Winifred froze, then forced a smile. "I went hiking yesterday and overdid it. My legs are still sore."

"Oh, you went hiking? To The Verdant Peaks?"

"Yes," Winifred replied, feeling a pang of guilt.

"I went hiking at The Verdant Peaks yesterday too! I would have asked you to come if I'd known," Lily said with a laugh.

Winifred just smiled awkwardly.

Just then, Molly walked in. "Morning, Winifred. Morning, Lily."

Her sharp eyes immediately noticed the red marks on Winifred's neck. "Whoa, Winifred, why is your neck so red? Did something bite you?"

"Is there?" Winifred touched her neck. "I didn't feel anything."

Lily came over for a look and suddenly broke into a knowing grin.

Seeing Lily's suggestive smile, Winifred suddenly remembered something, and her mind went blank.

Yves! He'd been particularly focused on her neck, nibbling and sucking.

Her skin was delicate; it couldn't stand up to Yvan's enthusiastic attention.

She hadn't noticed this morning, but Yvan definitely had. He'd even touched her neck earlier but didn't say a word.

Winifred quickly covered her neck with her hands, stammering, "Oh, I remember now. I forgot to close the window screen last night, it must be mosquito bites. Molly, do you have any concealer?"

Molly leaned in for a closer look. "You shouldn't put concealer on mosquito bites, it'll just make them itchier. Wait… are those really mosquito bites? That must be one toxic mosquito to leave a mark shaped like lips."

"Who told you that?" Winifred froze. She hadn't told anyone yet.

"Lily guessed. She said you were hanging out with some guy recently," Molly said, her eyes fixed on the hickeys on her neck.

Good heavens, things must have gotten pretty wild to leave that many marks.

Lily was also smiling at her. "Yeah, I've run into you a few times."

Winifred noticed Molly's inquisitive stare and Lily's teasing smile.

If she admitted she had a boyfriend now, they'd definitely jump to conclusions.

She wasn't planning on hiding anything, but she absolutely couldn't admit it right now.

"No, that was just someone I was set up with. We went out a few times, but it ended a while ago," Winifred denied firmly.
