How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 244

He wanted to design a custom engagement ring for Winifred himself.

He had already decided on the material: the legendary diamond, Zaffiro Marino.

The diamond weighed a staggering fifty carats, its purity as deep and profound as the ocean.

Moreover, the diamond came with a unique story. Legend had it that its owner would be blessed with a lifetime of happiness.

He planned to have the diamond cut to create a matching wedding set for himself and Winifred. With the remaining stones, he would craft a diamond necklace, a pair of earrings, a bracelet, and an anklet, all for her.

The only problem was that the diamond was currently in his parents’ possession; they had bought it at an auction years ago.

Would the old couple be willing to part with such a rare gem for him?

It would likely take some convincing.

Yvan arrived early to pick up Winifred that afternoon. While waiting in his car, he spotted a flower shop nearby.

An idea struck him. He got out, walked over, and chose a bouquet of luscious red roses. Then he went into the dental clinic and sat down in the waiting area.

Yvan was already handsome enough to turn heads, but holding a conspicuous bouquet of flowers made him even more of a spectacle.

Molly spotted Yvan from the reception desk.

She froze. What was Yvan doing here? And with a bouquet of flowers, no less. Could he be here for Winifred?

But she remembered how resistant Winifred had seemed toward Yvan before. Should she send her a text to give her a heads-up so she could avoid him?

Molly quickly snapped a photo of Yvan and sent it to her. “Winifred, do you think Yvan’s here for you?”

Winifred didn’t see the message until she was about to leave for the day.

She immediately stopped in her tracks, returned to her office, and called Yvan.

“Yvan, are you in the lobby right now?”

She gave an awkward laugh. “No, I went hiking yesterday, and my legs are a bit sore.”

“Oh, I see,” Lionel smiled. “I guess you don’t work out much, huh?”

“Yeah, not really,” Winifred replied, feeling a bit guilty as she chuckled.

“You should always ease into exercise. You can’t just jump into a high-intensity workout like that, or your legs will really pay for it.”

“Mhm, you’re right,” Winifred nodded.

“By the way, Winifred, I happen to have two movie tickets. Are you free this weekend? Want to go see a movie together?” Lionel pulled two tickets from his pocket. “It’s a new indie film. I heard it’s really good.”

Winifred instinctively glanced at the car in front of her.

From the car window, Yvan watched this unfold with a pitiful expression.

He wanted to get out, but Winifred shot him a warning glare, and he instantly froze.
