Chapter 124 Unexpected Encounter at the Bar
Lira’s POV:
“Steve!”
“Alfred!”
Sally and Laura called out to the group at the same time.
I followed their voices and looked over. What a coincidence–it was Steve, Laura’s big brother, Alfred Combs, and Anna Keller.
There was another woman I’d never seen before. She smelled just like Steve and the others–pure–blood high–rank werewolf, upper class.
Steve walked over, smiling at us. “What are you guys doing here?”
Laura raised her eyebrows. “I brought Sally and Lira here. We just finished exams, so we gotta find a place to have fun, right?”
Sally nodded. “Yeah, we just got done with exams, so I dragged Lira over to hang out.”
Steve smiled at me, looking confused. “Lira, why are you wearing glasses?”
I smiled and pushed my glasses up with my finger. “They look good, don’t they? Why, you got a problem with ‘em?”
Truth is, ever since that video blew up, I got these glasses to disguise myself–to keep all the extra trouble
away.
“They look great,” Steve said, grinning.
Then the young woman I didn’t know walked up to Steve, looked at us, and asked, curious, “Steve, who are these girls?”
Steve spoke calmly. “This is my little sister Sally, and these are her friends.”
Yolanda Ellis smiled at Sally. “Hi, Sally. I’m Yolanda Ellis–you can call me Yolanda. I’ve heard Steve talk about his pretty little sister, and you’re even prettier in person.”
Sally smiled faintly, polite but distant. “Hi.”
Sally didn’t seem to like her much, just like Victoria and Lily felt about Yolanda.
I kept my guard up around her too.
Right then, Anna walked over, smiling at us. “Since you’re here, why not join us? You three girls alone–we don’t feel right leaving you. More people, more fun, anyway.”
“Yeah,” Alfred chipped in, walking over to Sally. “Laura’s told me all about her best friends. Now that we ran into each other, let’s hang out together.”

Finished
Sally looked at Alfred, then turned to me and asked, “You wanna join?”
I looked at her, then at Alfred. She seemed a lot colder toward him now and her eyes didn’t look sad at all. So I decided to say yes.
“Sure. More people are more fun. We’re here to relax anyway–hanging out together is fine,” I smiled at Sally, then followed Steve and the others into the private room.
Steve told the waiter to bring over some drinks and fruit platters.
We just sat down when Laura grabbed my hand, wanting to go dance.
I laughed and shook my head. “I can’t dance. Ask Sally or Eileen to go with you.”
Laura looked at Sally. Sally sighed, helpless. “Don’t even ask me. You know I suck at this stuff.”
Eileen smiled, stood up, and pulled Laura toward the door. “Alright, stop bugging them. I’ll go with you.”
With that, the two of them walked out.
I watched them leave, shaking my head with a smile.
Steve suddenly turned to me and asked, “Lira, why don’t you go dance with Laura?”
He picked up a glass of juice and handed it to me.
I took the juice, leaned back on the sofa, and rubbed my forehead. “I can’t dance. That’s my weak spot.”
Dancing? I’d rather show off some werewolf fighting moves.
“No way,” Sally teased me, winking. “I thought you could do anything.
“You’re good at studying, great at medicine, and even that song you sang on the street blew up. I almost thought you were perfect.
“Lira, are you secretly an alpha?”
