Lira’s POV:

The winter sun shone warm on him, casting a holy glow over his handsome face-like a god come down to earth.

He was staring at me with such gentle eyes that my heart skipped a beat.

I didn’t dare believe it was real until I smelled his familiar scent, and felt Victoria’s unusual reaction to his presence. This wasn’t a dream.

I never thought Kael would show up here out of the blue.

I glared at him when I saw his teasing look. Just then, Enid walked out, and I asked her, “Why is he here?”

Enid said, her face serious, “You didn’t come back all night-I was so worried about you.”

I smiled, ran over to her, and linked my arm through hers, acting cute. “Don’t be mad. I was just trying to find more valuable herb materials.

“I got so much this time-want to see?” I looked at her nicely.

Enid patted my head, glanced at Kael, who was smiling and staring right at me, and then nodded toward him, soft and kind. “Go on. He came looking for you yesterday.”

I glared at Kael-he was still staring at me with that obvious, loving look, even in front of Enid. Then I turned back to Enid, smiling. “You don’t care about me anymore. I’m starving, and you’re making me hang out with someone right when I get back.”

“You little troublemaker.” She laughed, pretending to be mad as she tapped my forehead lightly. “Go wash up. I’ll tell the cook to make you something good.”

I perked up right away and headed to my room, making sure not to even look at Kael

I frowned right away and snapped, “Kael, why are you in my room?”

Kael turned around. When he saw me, he froze for a second. His eyes lit up with surprise, and then he just stared at me, not saying a word.
