Chapter 139 Begging for Her Hand
Finished
I never thought the cave would be this deep. As I walked further in, I suddenly spotted a green glowing plant on the stone wall.
I stared at it, trying to remember where I’d seen it before. I wracked my brain, but nothing came to me.
Then Sun piped up, “Master, that’s Firefly Grass. The old books in your space’s lab say it can bring people back from the dead.”
That’s when it clicked. Last time I was in the lab, I’d flipped through an old book that talked about it. I just never thought I’d actually see it in real life.
I was about to walk over to check it out when Sun stopped me. “You see what’s next to the grass?”
I looked closer, and there was a tiny green snake right next to the Firefly Grass.
I knew that snake-it was a Red Chain Snake. Its venom was super strong. Low-rank werewolves died right away if they got bit. Even high-rank ones passed out cold.
I’d only seen them in books before. Now that I was staring at one in real life, even with my dual wolf spirits, I got the creeps.
I hated those slimy, wiggly things-they made my skin crawl.
I looked at Sun and asked, “What do we do?”
He puffed out his chest, all proud. “Watch this.” He jumped at the snake, grabbed it by the neck, and ran outside.
Once I saw Sun took care of the snake, I sighed in relief and walked over. I dug up the Firefly Grass really carefully and tossed it into my space right away.
As soon as I pulled the grass out, the ground rumbled. In a split second, it split in two-and the hidden high-tech stuff inside popped out.
I stared at the hole, shocked. I never thought that grass was a secret switch!
That was totally nuts.
I looked closer, and there was a box in the hole. It was covered in dust, and it looked real old from the way it was made.
I knelt down and checked the lock-it was super tricky.
I tried using Lily’s energy to open it, but it didn’t work.
Then I switched to Victoria’s powerful energy, and the lock clicked open
When I lifted the lid, the whole cave lit up like it was daytime.
I stared at what was inside, totally dumbfounded. There were tons of gold bars, paintings antiques-and more than a dozen rare gems. They were even bigger than the ones Enid gave me!

Chapter 139 Begging for Her Hand
Even though I’d seen my share of expensive stuff, I was still shook. This stuff was worth a fortune.
Finished
All of it put together-enough to buy food for Hidmoon Pack for ten years. We could even take in twice as many stray wolves!
I stuffed everything into my space and then covered the hole with dirt. I didn’t want to let anyone else find it and start trouble.
After wiping away all the traces, I walked out of the cave.
Sun had almost played that snake to death. When he saw me come out, he dropped the snake and ran right over to me.
I grabbed Sun and headed back to my space. I’d dug up so many herbs today–I had to plant them right
away
I worked all night in my space, planting every last herb. I didn’t even get a minute to rest. Then I pulled out all the gold, gems, antiques and paintings I’d found in the cave to check them out.
That’s when I noticed-the paintings were all masterpieces from old artists. They’d been lost for hundreds of years.
Nobody would’ve guessed they were hidden in that cave. If these paintings ever got out, they’d definitely cause a huge commotion…
When I came out of my space, the sun was already up.
I used Victoria’s energy to run back as fast as I could. By the time I got home, it was already noon.
I pushed the door open, yelling happily, “Elder Krom, I’m back! Did you miss me?”
But as soon as the words left my mouth, I froze. There was a guy standing in the courtyard–and it was Kael…
