Chapter 145 Rare Gems
Lira’s POV:
I knew exactly what she was doing-sneering at me, talking trash.
But she was such an idiot. Not worth my time.
I scoffed, calm as ever. “None of your business. We barely even know each other.”
Then I turned to Steve beside me. “Mr. Garcia, picking a girl is just like picking rough stones. You gotta keep your eyes open-don’t just look at the surface.”
“You!” Yolanda’s face turned bright red with anger. She popped out her wolf claws and tried to pounce at
Anna pulled her back hard, whispering, “Quit causing trouble. We’ll talk about this later.”
Steve also glared at her sharply, his wolf eyes flaring as a warning. She finally calmed down, but she stared at me with angry eyes.
I didn’t care at all-I just kept looking at Steve.
When Steve looked at me, his smile came back. “Got it. Next time I look for a mate, I’ll definitely ask you to check her out.”
When Yolanda heard that, her face got even worse.
She looked at me like she wanted to shift into a wolf and tear me apart right then and there.
I stared right back at her, a sneer tugging at my lips. Then I turned my attention back to the rough stone on the cutting table.
The stone had already been cut open a little. Someone in the crowd yelled out in surprise. “Green! There’s green inside!
“Imperial green!”
That sudden shout drew everyone’s eyes to the table.
Someone yelled excitedly, “Whoa! That’s super rare!”
“Miss, are you selling this stone? I’ll give you 10 million!” Someone rushed over to ask for the price right
away.
I glanced at the cut, smiling softly. “Sorry, wait till it’s fully cut first. After all, if it’s only green on the surface, or if there’s moss inside, that wouldn’t be fair to you guys
Time passed little by little. Everyone’s eyes stayed glued to the cutting table, watching as a soccer-sized piece of imperial green gem was cut out completely.
I took the gem in my hand. Its crystal-clear texture and warm, smooth touch were amazing. It really was a

rare treasure.
Steve stood beside me, whispering, “We made a deal. If you got something rare, you’d let me buy it first.”
I grinned, being tricky. “Yeah, I said that. But I also said whoever pays the most gets it.”
As soon as I finished speaking, people started calling out prices around us.
“Miss, I’ll give you 500 million!”
“Six hundred million!”
“Seven hundred million!”
“One billion!”
Steve’s mouth twitched. He put his hand to his forehead, helpless, and said, “I’ll give you 1.5 billion.”
I was shocked. Steve really was loaded-no wonder he was the alpha heir of Silverwhip Pack, where trade was so big!
As soon as he said that price, no one else dared to bid.
“Deal!” I happily made the trade with him.
Looking at the text message on my phone saying the money was in my account, I had to admit-it felt
pretty great.
Next, I cut two more stones. One was garbage, and the other was medium quality. I sold that one for three million.
I
put the fourth stone on the cutting table. The cutter was about to cut it right away, but I stopped him quickly. “Sir, just polish this one instead of cutting it.”
The cutter didn’t ask any questions. He picked up a carborundum file and started polishing.
Yolanda sneered from the side, “Looks like someone’s gut isn’t so good after all. Two garbage stones in a row. Wonder if your gut’s still right this time.”
Those two garbage stones must have been accidentally loaded onto my cart by the workers. With my eyes, I never would’ve picked them.

But I didn’t wanna bother with Yolanda. The more you paid attention to people like her, the more arrogant they got.
The cutter polished the surface of the stone little by little. He suddenly paused, then kept going. In no time, a big gem inside was polished on one side-bright cherry pink, right in front of everyone.
The crowd gasped.
Even though I’d seen it coming. I was still happy. This pink was super rare. Imperial green gem was precious, but this pink gem was even harder to find-truly one of a kind.
