“This person knows the entertainment business inside and out. Travis continued. “But he offended a ranking Beta in his old pack. The Alpha punished him, then he was forced out of his company. After that, no one would hire him. He got discouraged. Left the industry completely.
“If you’re interested, I can reach out. Set up a meeting?”
I thought for a moment, then nodded. “Alright. Arrange it.”
Once the division of responsibilities for the major divisions was clear, Serena and Travis dove into their work. Their efficiency was impressive.
As someone destined to lead the Hidmoon Pack, and with old scores to settle with Brookstone Pack, I had to keep up my “high school student‘ cover for now. It avoided unnecessary complications.
After handling company matters, I returned to campus life.
The school grounds were crowded, full of watching eyes. I carefully held back all of Victoria’s aura, letting only Lily’s gentle energy show. Just an ordinary Omega student.
The online buzz from before was still going. Many students were convinced I was the girl from those photos.
Add to that my top marks in every assessment and my looks… I was a hot topic on the school forum.
Since awakening Victoria, my hearing had become unnaturally sharp. Even when I tried to ignore it, the conversations around me came through clearly.
“Did you hear? Lira Krom is amazing at tennis too! And she’s so pretty, and nice. I think we should nominate her for Prom Queen!”
“Seriously? She just transferred! How is she this popular? I heard the football team captain wants to ask he
out.”
Someone retorted with disdain, “Prom Queen? Are you joking? What right does a low–rank Omega have to be Prom Queen?”
“Exactly! Last year’s Queen was Barbara–from a pure–blood high–rank lineage!”
“Right. How can some Omega compare to Barbara?”
I tried not to care about the forum drama, but Laura Combs, a friend I’d made here, updated me daily.
Plus, with my sharp ears catching bits of conversation everywhere, it was impossible to avoid.
“Lira, you’re a total celebrity at our school now!” Laura leaned in with a mischievous grin.
I put a hand to my forehead and sighed.
