Chapter 47 Ambush and Disrespect

Lira’s POV:

I caught a whiff of danger, and Victoria and Lily tensed up inside mé right away–all ready to fight.

John saw what was going down and fumbled for his phone, dialing a number in a hurry.

“They really laid an ambush! Hurry up and lure those cars away from us!”

He hung up, then turned to me with a guilty look. “I’m so sorry, Ms. Krom. You got dragged into this mess because of Mr. Brewer’s family drama.”

I shook my head calmly, my voice cold. “If you’re owning up to dragging me into this, that means they won’t let me walk away.

“Look, I’m no saint, and I’m not as weak as you think. Since I’m stuck in your mess, I want a satisfying answer for the trouble you’ve caused me later.

“If I don’t get it, don’t blame me for handling things my way. When that happens, I won’t show any mercy.

“And if you think I’m just some Omega who knows a little medicine and is easy to push around–go ahead and test me.” I stared him down sharply after I said it.

He looked spooked, his voice trembling a little. “Y–Yes, Ms. Krom! I’ll make sure you get an answer, I

swear!”

His words were still hanging in the air when a car came zooming up from the right lane!

Then a guy stuck his head out the window, raised a gun, and a silver bullet–made just to take down werewolves–came flying straight for me!

John screamed in a panic, “Watch out!”

But I’d already called up Victoria’s energy in that split second. With reflexes faster than lightning. I caught the bullet with my bare hand.

I squeezed my fingers tight, and in the blink of an eye, that silver bullet turned to dust right in my palm.

John stared at me, eyes wide as saucers–totally frozen, like he couldn’t wrap his head around what he’d just seen.

“H–How is that even possible?

“You’re just an Omega! How’d you pull that off?”

I just wiped my hands calmly and paid him no mind at all.

I turned to look out the window. The guy who’d shot the silver bullet at me looked just as shocked–like he’d seen a ghost.

On top of that, the wolf warrior cars John had set up earlier started fighting back, and they booked it out of

When the car pulled up to the villa gate, John still looked like he hadn’t snapped out of the shock.

We got out, and I had to nudge him before he finally snapped to it and led me into the main house.

The living room was packed with people. When they saw John bringing me in, their faces all twisted up with mixed looks: shock, disgust, disappointment, mockery–you name it.

I didn’t give their stares a second thought. I just glanced around, cool as a cucumber.

John ignored everyone and started to take me upstairs.

A woman dressed like a fancy rich lady sneered at me. “John, my dad’s already knocked out cold. Why are you bringing this young girl upstairs?

“And she’s just an Omega! All our maids are Omegas. Did we really need to go out and grab another one?”
