Chapter 69 Back to School
Lira’s POV:
I wrapped up my midterm exams, and the pharmaceutical factory was finally finished.
Fuushed
I took some downtime to head to the factory. Candy and the others were already hard at work there.
They knew the research gear better than anyone, so they cut their vacation short to get started.
The whole factory covered seven million square feet. It had everything–supermarket, dorms, labs, production shops, planting areas, shipping zones… We covered all our bases.
Serena showed me around the whole factory, then we headed to the office in the admin building.
I just sat down when Serena spoke up. “So? Anything you wanna tweak?”
I tapped the desk lightly and said softly, “Not right now. Let’s fire up production first. We can fix stuff later if we need to. For now, it’s perfect. Tell the hospital to pick up the pace–once they’re set, the factory can start cranking out medicine.”
Serena sat across from me and nodded. “Yeah, that makes sense. For the planting area, I got professional herbal farmers to look after the seeds you gave me. I was thinking–we can start small, then play it by ear. After all, our herbs are super rare.
“We filled all the basic lab spots too. They’re all mid–rank werewolves from the Hidmoon Pack who wanted to come work here.”
I nodded. “You call the shots on this one.”
We were chatting when someone knocked softly on the office door.
Serena stood up and opened it. Candy and the rest walked in.
“Ms. Krom! You’re finally here. I thought you bailed on us.” Candy grinned the second she stepped inside.
I smiled, told them to have a seat, and asked, “How’s the lab? Does everything work out okay?”
Jean Sieg smiled shyly. “It’s awesome! The equipment’s all brand new. We’re stoked we can keep doing the work we love.”
“Yeah! We spent three whole days just checking the place out after we got here. The equipment’s got everything we need, and the herbs in the planting area are awesome. Ms. Krom, you’re amazing!”
“Where did you score these herbs? They’re crazy rare. Some of ‘em we’ve never even heard of,” Kevin Jackson, sitting next to Jean, said. He was all excited.
They talked back and forth. You could tell they loved the new spot, and that put my mind at ease.
“Glad you guys like it. Just tell Serena if you need anything. You can study all the herbs in the plantation–I grew every single one myself over the years. I think you’ll be blown away.”

Finished
I felt good about these herbs. I’d picked the seeds myself and taken them into my space, letting the space’s energy help them grow really well.
We talked till noon. Serena walked in with lunch boxes, and that’s when I realized how late it was getting
Candy and the others headed out. Serena set a lunch box in front of me and warned, “Hurry up and eat. Work matters, but you’ve been using your Omega wolf spirit energy a lot lately. Your body’s not as tough as it used to be–you can’t skip meals.”
After she said that, she grabbed the papers off my desk.
I smiled and dug into my food happily.
I spent the next two days at the factory. There were a lot of things I had to handle myself.
After two days together, everyone got to know me better. Even the ones who used to hate the idea of an Omega being their chairman started being really friendly.
I even heard them gush about me. “Our chairman Lira totally blew us away! She makes solid calls, has perfect plans, and knows everything about medicine. Us genius researchers all look up to her!”
“If Lira didn’t have to go back to school, we’d forget she’s still just a kid.”
I just smiled when I heard that. I was happy they respected me–it would make work smoother later on.
On Monday, I went back to school. As soon as I walked into math class, the whole room went dead silent.
I didn’t think anything of it, found a seat, and just sat down when Laura came running over to me in a
rush…
