Chapter 81 Don’t Mess With the Healer

Lira’s POV:

Edward smiled and introduced them to me. “This is my wife, Cheryl, and my third son, Francis.

Then he turned to Cheryl Golder next to him. “Lira’s the healer I brought in specifically to treat Lance.”

“Edward, you gotta be joking,” Cheryl scoffed. “This little girl’s just an Omega–you can smell it. Even the experts can’t figure out what’s wrong with him. What makes you think she can?”

I didn’t even bat an eye. I just kept shoveling down my breakfast. I’d heard this same garbage a million times before.

Edward’s wolf eyes sharpened up, and he snapped coldly, “Stay out of this. Mind your own damn business.

When Cheryl saw he was really ticked off, she softened up right away. “Edward, I’m just looking out for Lance. C’mon–even the experts are stuck. If you let some stranger mess with him, it could make things worse. He’s been out cold this long already.” After she said that, she reached out to pat Edward’s hand.

Edward pulled his hand back, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and said, “That’s it. Drop it.”

Then he stood up and said to me, “Lira, take your time eating. I’ll be in my study waiting for you.”

I nodded quietly and kept eating.

As soon as Edward headed upstairs, Cheryl’s wolf eyes locked onto me. “I’ve never seen you before. What kind of spell did you put on our alpha? Spit it out–what are you really doing here?”

I ignored her barking. I just kept eating my breakfast like she wasn’t there.

Cheryl popped out her wolf claws and pointed them at me, trying to scare me. “Little girl, if you wanna stay alive in the Fragrance Pack, you’d better keep your nose out of our business. Otherwise, you’ll be sorry -big time.”
