Trenton was still waiting for Thalia to admit her mistake.

But after Sandra’s trip to the hospital, nothing was resolved. Instead, the Blackburn Group ramped up their pressure even

The banks kept calling, pressing for repayment, and the stock price kept plummeting.

Trenton was furious, his face dark with anger. “Those bastards!”

Shyla s expression was grim. She stood up and said, “I’m going to see Thalia. She’s really gone too far this time!”

She left the room, and the bodyguards didn’t stop her.

But she couldn’t get past the door to Thalia’s hospital room.

Shyla shouted toward the hospital room, “Thalia, let me in. I need to talk to you.”

The whole floor was quiet, so Shyla’s voice came through loud and clear.

The two bodyguards frowned, surprised that she was making such a scene.

One of them quickly pulled out his phone and called Darion.

Shyla kept shouting, “Thalia, can’t we just talk things over as a family? Why won’t you see me and your dad? We’re your family. How can you be so stubborn?”

Thalia was playing Candy Crush on her phone. The pain in her back was gone, and now it was just starting to itch.

Hearing Shyla shouting outside, she lost the level.

She put her phone down, stood up, and walked over to the door.

Through the glass, mother and daughter met each other’s eyes.

Shyla’s eyes brightened and she stepped closer. “Thalia, open the door for Mom. I need to talk to you.”

Thalia didn’t say anything. She just looked at her with a cool, indifferent gaze.

Shyla barely recognized the look in Thalia’s eyes. It was cold and distant.

When Thalia was little, she always depended on her mom, telling her everything and twirling around in cute dresses just to hear a compliment.

But at some point. Thalia stopped opening up, stopped sharing her life and feelings.

The gap between them only seemed to widen with time.

Right now, Shyla was hit with a sudden wave of panic. It felt like Thalia was drifting farther and farther away from her, so much so that she feared she might lose her completely.

But she quickly brushed that thought off

‘No way.

It’s just a few musunderstandings. Once we talk things through, it’ll all be okay. Shyla comforted herself.

Shyla tried to suppress the panic and unease in her heart, doing her best to keep her voice gentle. “Thalia, can you let Mom in?”

Thalia opened the door and walked up to stand in front of Shyla.

The bodyguard was taken aback. “Mrs. Mcgee, Mr. Blackburn said-

But before he could finish, Thalia suddenly reached out and gently stroked Shyla’s hair.

Shyla’s heart melted instantly. She grabbed Thalia’s hand. “Thalia, are you feeling any better? Does it still hurt? Can I come in and check on you?”
