Chapter 305
“Hello” Thaha answered, her voice softer than before.
“Thaha. Darion’s voice was rough, almost raspy. “Where are you?”
Thalia replied, “I’m on the road. Is there something you need?”
Darion was quiet for a moment, then spoke again, sounding a little hurt. “Aren’t you going to come see me?
Thalia fell silent for a moment.
She tightened her grip on the steering wheel, eyes fixed ahead. After a couple seconds, she said, “I’m coming now,”
Darion sounded a bit more cheerful. “Okay, I’ll wait for you.”
After hanging up. Thalia exhaled slowly, trying to steady herself.
She turned the car around and drove toward the hospital where Darion was staying.
The VIP suite was impressive. The bed was spacious, a sofa sat nearby, and a vase of flowers gave off a subtle scent that softened the usual harsh smell of disinfectant.
When Thalia walked in, she saw Darion leaning against the headboard, a small table in front of him with his laptop open. fully absorbed in his work.
Ryan stood off to the side, ready to assist whenever needed.
There was a soft knock at the door. Thalia stood outside, tapping her knuckles gently against it.
“You’re hurt. Shouldn’t you be taking it easy?” she said.
Darion looked up at her, his dark, sharp eyes sparkling, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Thalia, are you actually worried about me?” he said with a playful grin.
Thalia walked in, pulled up a chair, and sat down beside him. “You saved me, after all. It’s only right for me to care about you and thank you.”
Darion’s smile grew a little wider. “Thalia, we’re husband and wife. You don’t have to be so formal with me. I’m happy to do anything for you.”
‘Is that so?” Thalia replied, her tone turning a bit casual.
“What if I asked you to have Miya leave the Blackburn family?”
Darion’s expression paused. “Why would you want that? She’s Keith’s mother. I have no reason to make her leave.”
Thalia let out a sarcastic laugh. “So there are things you can’t do after all. Don’t make promises you can’t deliver on”
Darion stared at her deeply: “Thalia, are you hurt?”
“I’m fine.” Thalia said, her voice calm, though her eyes were a little complicated as she looked at him. “Darion, what you did doesn’t really move me.”
