I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 317

Chapter 317

Helen hesitated before asking, “Darion, are you still upset with me for signing those papers for you back then?”

Darion’s tone was calm. “Mom, that’s in the past.”

“I was just so scared, Helen said, pausing to sigh. “Emely had already been through so much, and I couldn’t bear the thought of anything happening to you too. But now I’ve realized, as long as you can keep yourself safe, I’ll support whatever you choose to do.”

Darion’s expression faltered for a moment. Then help me win Thalia back.”

“Alright.” Helen agreed without hesitation. “When Emely’s memorial day comes, I’ll invite her over for dinner. Emely always treated her well, so she probably won’t refuse.”

A cold glint flashed in Darion’s eyes at her words, and his tone became even more distant. “Alright, I understand. I’m going to hang up.”

“Alright.”

Darion set his phone aside, replaying Helen’s words in his mind.

‘Emely was good to Thalia, he thought.

Yeah, he was, he admitted to himself.

Emely was always the big brother type, gentle, caring, and steady.

“What about Thalia?

“What is she thinking?

‘If she knew… Darion mused.

He closed his eyes, shaking off the chaos inside. When he opened them again, his gaze was pitch-black and calm.

‘No ifs, he thought.

He and Thalia had been together for more than eight years.

No one could tear them apart.

Since it was her day off, Thalia spent the afternoon playing chess with Diana.

Her phone suddenly buzzed. She checked the caller ID, Matthew Evans.

“Hello?” Thalia said, picking up.

Matthew’s voice was heavy. “I think someone’s been digging into my business lately.”

Thalia was caught off guard. “Why do you feel that way?”

Matthew said. “I’ve got some friends overseas, and they tipped me off. I think it’s Darion. Is he trying to take me out? Does

he just think I’m too much of a pain for him?”

Thalia gave a helpless smile. “I doubt it. If he wanted you gone, he would’ve done it when he shipped you overseas. He wouldn’t have waited this long.”

Matthew’s tone was a bit sly. “Oh, so you really know him, huh?”

We’ve been together for eight years, maybe not everything, but pretty close,” Thalia said, totally relaxed. “Seriously, don’t stress about it. Even if someone is checking up on you, so what? Got some shady secrets or something?”

Matthew laughed. “Yeah, nothing shady about me. If I was some big shot, I wouldn’t even be back here.”

‘Don’t stress about it. Been busy lately?” Thalia asked, sounding relaxed.

‘It’s alright, Matthew said. “Is Diana getting better? If I have some free time later, I might stop by for a visit.”

‘She’s really doing well. Come over. She’ll be glad to see you,” Thalia said with a smile.
