Thalia was feeling uneasy. She glanced at Darion across the table and asked, “If this way doesn’t work, what’s our next move?”
“Don’t worry,” Darion said calmly. “I’ll handle it.”
Thalia’s brows furrowed. “If you keep me in the dark, I’ll just worry myself sick. The least you can do is give me a heads-up.”
Darion looked up and met her gaze. “You’re safe for now.”
Thalia was puzzled. “How can you be so sure?”
Darion gave a faint smile. “With Quinn Clark around, his crew won’t dare stir up trouble.”
Thalia gripped her fork tightly. “But this is just a temporary fix. It doesn’t solve the real problem.”
“We have to take it one step at a time,” Darion said.
“Let’s eat and try to forget about what happened tonight. Next time you see him, just keep your distance.”
Just thinking about the way Quinn Clark acted like a lunatic made Thalia’s skin crawl.
She’d seen the dark side of people before, but she’d never met anyone this unhinged.

His moods could flip in a heartbeat. One moment he was laughing, and the next, his thoughts would jump and he’d burst into tears.
And when she remembered what Darion had said about Quinn sobbing while chopping off his siblings’ hands and feet, she suddenly felt sick to her stomach.
“I’m not hungry. You eat,” Thalia said.
She set her fork down, her face pale.
Seeing this, Darion’s strong brows furrowed. “He’s still getting to you.”
Thalia didn’t say a word.
Darion put down his fork, glanced at his watch, and said, “Let’s do something else to take your mind off things.”
Thalia looked at him, puzzled. “Like what?”
Darion said, “Hey, there’s a movie theater nearby. How about we go watch something?”
Thalia shook her head. “No way, I just want to see Diana.”
Darion pressed, “You’re not yourself right now. Diana will notice the second she sees you. Do you really want her to worry about you?”

Chapter 421
Thalia went quiet.
“Come on, it’s just a movie, nothing big,” Darion said as he stood up, walked over, and reached for her hand.
Thalia pulled her hand away. “I can walk by myself.”
Darion glanced at his empty palm and let out a low chuckle. “Thalia, are you just using me as your mule and then ditching me?”
“Are you the mule here?” Thalia shot back.
She gave him a look. “If that’s how you see it, I can’t help it.”
Darion was speechless.
Darion could only sigh. There was just no dealing with her.
There was a mall nearby, so Darion bought movie tickets on his phone. The scent of popcorn hit them as soon as they stepped inside the theater.
After picking up their tickets, Thalia headed straight for the entrance.
“Wait a sec,” Darion called out.
He called out to her, then turned and walked away.
Thalia looked at him, puzzled. “What are you doing?”
“I’ll be right back,” Darion replied.
But he didn’t answer her. The crowd swallowed him up, and Thalia looked away.
About five minutes later, someone stepped in front of her. She looked up and saw Darion, holding a bucket of popcorn in one hand and a soda in the other, a faint smile playing on his sharp, handsome features.
“Everyone else has snacks, so we can’t be left out, right?” he said./
Thalia blinked, then turned around decisively. “I’m not hungry.”
“Well, I am,” Darion replied, tagging along with a playful grin.
“Can you hold this for me? My hands are full, can’t scan the tickets,” he said, still smiling.
Thalia took the bucket of popcorn from him. Once he finished checking their tickets, she handed it back.
But instead of taking it, Darion pulled out his phone and started making a call, leaving her hanging.
