Bonnie opened the door and was wide-eyed in shock to see Darion standing outside. Her heart was pounding, her cheeks flushed, and her fingers tightened around the door. She felt nervous and uneasy, but deep down, there was a hidden sense of anticipation.

‘He actually came to see me at this hour?’ Bonnie thought, her heart racing.

“Mr. Blackburn, is there something you need?” Bonnie asked, trying to keep her emotions in check and hide her feelings.

“Come out,” Darion said coolly, not even looking at her.

He kept his distance, didn’t even bother to glance her way, and just turned to head outside without another word.

Bonnie trailed after him, her eyes glued to his tall, commanding figure. Dressed in a black shirt with one hand casually in his pocket, he had that aloof, untouchable vibe. He was so ridiculously good-looking, Bonnie felt her heart skip a beat just looking at him.

‘What do I do now?’ Bonnie freaked out inside.

‘I’m really starting to fall for him,’ she couldn’t help but admit to herself, feeling totally helpless.

Bonnie quickly dropped her gaze, took a few deep breaths, and desperately tried to keep her feelings under wraps. ‘No way can I let him notice anything,’ she warned herself.

‘He’s still married. I can’t be the homewrecker. And Thalia’s always been so good to me. There’s no way I could ever do something to hurt her,’ Bonnie thought, the guilt eating her alive.

They headed down to the basement lounge. Darion settled onto the couch, his gaze locked on Bonnie standing a little ways off. His tone was cold and heavy as he asked, “So, what exactly did you two do at the

hotel?”

Bonnie froze for a second, totally thrown off by his question, not really sure what he meant.

She instinctively glanced up at him, but as soon as her eyes met his icy, unreadable ones, she quickly looked away and mumbled, “I… um, my clothes got dirty, so Thalia took me there to help me deal with it.”

Darion let out a sarcastic snort.

‘Guess they’re really thick as thieves. She’s still running interference for Thalia,’ he thought, his eyes narrowing.

Darion’s voice was low and dangerous. “I’m asking because I already know you two went to the drugstore together. I’m fully aware of what you bought. So you’d better tell me the truth, or you can walk away right

now.”

Bonnie’s heart tightened, her face turning pale. ‘He’s insanely good-looking, but there’s something dangerous about him, she thought, feeling her nerves spike.

‘His vibe is scary as hell, Bonnie thought, totally rattled.

She hesitated, biting her lip, clearly torn. “Mr. Blackburn, you can ask Thalia about it…”

Darion narrowed his sharp eyes, his gaze cold and piercing. “So, you really are set on leaving, huh?”

With that, he stood up and headed upstairs, calling out without looking back, “Pack your stuff. Don’t come back tomorrow.”

“No!” Bonnie cried out, stepping forward without thinking, her voice trembling.

Her eyes were already welling up with tears. “Mr. Blackburn, why are you making things so hard for me? Whatever happens between you and Thalia has nothing to do with me. Do you want me to turn my back on her?”

Darion gave her a blank stare, his voice icy. “She said she’s not pregnant.”

Bonnie shot back, “Thalia already told you herself. Why are you coming to me about this?”

Darion watched her closely, searching her eyes. There was no trace of guilt or hesitation, just pure frustration and resentment.

That was it. The last shred of hope in Darion’s heart crumbled.

‘She’s not lying to me, he realized, a wave of disappointment crashing over him.
