Sebastian had arranged to meet at Maplewood Estate, and he was waiting downstairs at Thalia’s place
Verena stood off to the side, looking like she really didn’t want to be there.
When she saw Darion, her face got even more rigid, and she actually turned around to leave.
When Sebastian saw Thalia show up, his expression softened a bit, but as soon as he spotted Darion, his brows tightened ever so slightly.
“Thalia, let’s go upstairs. It’s best to talk about this at your place. It shows we’re serious,” Sebastian said gently.
Thalia nodded. “Alright.”
She headed into the apartment building, the others trailing after her.
Once they were inside, Sebastian turned to Verena, his tone unusually serious. “Apologize.”
Verena clenched her jaw, stubbornly keeping silent, her eyes fixed on the floor.
Sebastian’s voice turned even colder. “Don’t forget what I told you before.”
Verena dropped her head, her whole posture screaming reluctance, and muttered stiffly, “Sorry.”
“Huh!”
Thalia just scoffed at her, not bothering to hide her disdain.
Verena shot her a glare. “Seriously? I already apologized. What more do you want from me?”
“Is that really how you apologize?” Darion spoke up, his voice turning cold, his dark, hawk-like eyes boring into her.
Verena felt suffocated by the pressure, her chest tight and uncomfortable, her eyes growing red with unshed tears.
She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but facing Darion, the words just wouldn’t come out.
Darion let out a cold scoff. “Mr. Flynn, is this really how the Flynn family apologizes?”
“Verena!” Sebastian barked, his tone sharp and impatient.
“Apologize to Thalia!”
Verena’s face turned ghostly pale, her whole body trembling uncontrollably.
She glanced at Darion, a flicker of hurt in her eyes, then turned to Thalia, her eyes hardening with cold resentment.
‘Damn it, if only I hadn’t messed up last time!
‘If I hadn’t screwed up. Thalia wouldn’t be standing here right now, and she sure as hell wouldn’t still be hanging around Darion, she thought, resentment simmering inside her.
I’m sorry. Earlier, I wasn’t thinking straight. I hope you can forgive me,” Verena said, her voice softer, sounding a bit more genuine

She lowered her head, her tone finally softening a bit. There was actually a hint of sincerity this time, unlike before
Thalia just stared at her, her usually bright eyes now cold and distant.
Darion spoke up, his voice icy and unforgiving. “You’ve got a nasty heart. There’s no way a simple apology could ever make up for the pain you caused my wife.”
Verena snapped her head up, eyes wide in disbelief. “You think I’m evil?”
“Isn’t it true?” Darion shot her a cold, unflinching glare. “You sent someone to hurt her. How is that not malicious?”
Tears rolled down Verena’s cheeks as she bit her lip hard, her voice choked with tears. “So what do you want from me?”
Darion gave her a cold, dismissive glance. “I believe Mr. Flynn is here out of guilt, genuinely wanting to make things right for my wife.
“So, let’s see some real sincerity. Transfer all the net profits from Miss Flynn’s companies for the past three years to my wife’s account. That’s the only way I’ll even consider you mean it.”
“You!” Verena’s face went livid with rage.
“This is robbery! Extortion! You’re way out of line!” Verena shouted, her voice shaking with fury.
“Out of line?” Darion smirked. “Since Miss Flynn doesn’t like my first offer, I’ve got another one. The Blackburn Group’s legal team has plenty of free time these days.
“The evidence against you is airtight. You ordered someone to hurt my wife. If I call the police, you’ll definitely end up behind bars. So, what do you say?”
Verena’s tears streamed down uncontrollably. “You’re actually going to send me to prison?”
