Chapter 639
“No, let me go!” Wendy cried out, her whole body trembling with resistance.

With her back to him, her hands trapped in his single grip, all she could see was the wine bottle hiding the note. Tears blurred her vision, and she was drowning in despair.
Quinn kissed her with extreme tenderness. Her clothes fell away, layer by layer, as his lips explored every inch of her skin.
Wendy’s body began to tremble under his kisses, and her tears streamed down even more.
Darion Blackburn leaned in, kissing away all her tears, and spoke with extra tenderness, “Baby, please don’t ever do something like this again, okay? I was really mad, and it hurt me.”
Wendy could feel his burning body heat. Pinned between the wine cabinet and his chest, she had no way to break free or escape.
“If you ever pull this again, I’ll ruin you,” Darion said.
He said the nastiest things in the softest voice.
Wendy was trembling even more violently, her tears blurring her vision. She was pressed against the wine cabinet for nearly two hours.
Her legs were so weak she could hardly stand. If he hadn’t held her firmly by the waist, she would have already slipped down onto the carpet.
Her mind was foggy and drifting. In the end, someone picked her up and carried her out of the room. Even in her haze, she could feel hands on her body. She had no control over her body anymore, trembling uncontrollably.
Night settled in.
The hospital was shrouded in silence, both within and without.
Ryan came to Darion’s hospital room and said in a low voice, “Mr. Blackburn, Quinn replied to the email. This time, Vera reached out to him, but he turned her down. So, she went to other mercenary groups.
“As for that mysterious guy, he doesn’t belong to any organization. He’s a total enigma. There’s absolutely nothing on him,
not even a rumor.”
He paused, searching for the right word. “He just showed up out of nowhere three years ago, like he materialized out of thin
air.
Darion’s world was pitch black. As he listened to Ryan’s report, his brows furrowed beneath the bandages. After a moment, he said. “Look into it quietly. Don’t tip them off. And tell Ethan to stir up some trouble for the Holt family.”
Ryan was taken aback. “Mr. Blackburn, are you really going to take on the Holt family now? But you’re still not fully
recovered.
Darion’s voice was icy. “The Holt family can’t even keep their own daughter in line. I’m just giving them a little reminder. Anyone from the Holt family who gets involved in business is just asking for trouble. They’re bound to make enemies. Let Ethan take care of it.”
Ryan nodded. “Yes, sir.”

Darion stone softened a little. “What’s Thalia doing”
Ryan shook his head, looking confused. “I don’t know. I haven’t been to her room.”
Darion was silent for a while, then said. “Go take care of something for me.”

Thaha had been holed up in her hospital room, never stepping out. She kept exploring her phone, searching for any features that might help her speak.
But after a while, her face showed a trace of loneliness.
She pulled up the characters she’d once voiced, revisiting each one and listening to them in turn.
Her voice was soft and full of life, making every character vivid and sparkling. If she’d kept pursuing this path, there would have been all kinds of wonderful surprises waiting for her.
But now, she was mute.
What a joke.
A voice actress who can’t speak anymore. How absurd.
Thalia closed her eyes, her long lashes trembling uncontrollably.
