I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 626

As Nita stormed out, she thought about calling Zoe.

Pulling up her phone contacts, she realized she hadn't even saved Zoe's number.

Fuming, she happened to spot Garrett's car and marched straight over.

"Mr. Kendall, where is Zoe?"

Garrett had to look at her a few times before recognizing Nita.

"Mrs. Thorne. Can I help you?"

Ever since Zoe had endured so much unjust treatment, Garrett harbored zero goodwill toward anyone in the Thorne family, aside from the old lady.

"Where is Zoe? I need to see her."

Nita deliberately craned her neck to peer into Garrett's car, but she didn't see her.

"Why are you looking for Zoe?"

Garrett was instinctively on high alert.

"I am her mother-in-law. Isn't it perfectly normal for me to look for her?"

Nita was thoroughly exasperated.

"Mrs. Thorne, I think you might be mistaken. Your son and Zoe got divorced months ago. They have the certificates. She hasn't been your daughter-in-law for a long time, and you certainly aren't her mother-in-law anymore."

Garrett found the situation incredibly ominous. Coming from a woman who had never treated Zoe as family, claiming to be her mother-in-law was a massive red flag.

"The military tribunal."

Ha—Nita gave Garrett a scoffing look.

"Is the Kendall family some kind of national treasure, or has Zoe suddenly become a legendary VIP, that you're threatening to send me to a military tribunal and making me sign NDAs? Garrett, you're just a junior. Aren't you afraid of choking on your own exaggerations?" Nita didn't take him seriously in the slightest, but Garrett was dead serious.

"Mrs. Thorne, seeing Zoe isn't as simple as you think. Right now, even I have to go through multiple layers of clearance to see her. If you want to see her, you sign the NDA, otherwise, no one gets anywhere near her."

"And it isn't the Kendall family that's the national treasure. It's the daughter-in-law you've looked down on this whole time who possesses the real talent. As for the person you care about most—Sienna, right? I'm afraid she's likely been placed on a federal watch list and is about to have her assets frozen as a disgraced debtor."

Nita couldn't hold back her insults. "What kind of nonsense are you spewing? Sienna, a disgraced debtor? What a joke! Our Thorne family's pocket change alone is enough to last her a lifetime. She is one of the wealthiest female billionaires globally. What exactly are you so bitter about?"

"Where exactly is Zoe? I'll agree to your little NDA charade, but I demand to see her in person. It's high time we cleared the air face-to-face."
