Zoe looked at Nita and smiled faintly. "Mrs. Thorne, from the day I divorced your son, your family's drama stopped being any of my business."

"Furthermore, Sienna Winters is nothing to me. She is just my biological mother's daughter. My last name is Lynd, and hers is Winters. Calling us sisters is a massive stretch. I have work to do. This is the first and the last time I will ever entertain a conversation with you."

Zoe stood up and signaled the guards. "Please escort Mrs. Thorne out."

Nita flew into a rage. "Zoe! You think you can just walk away before this is resolved?"

A guard, rifle in hand, leveled a stern, unwavering glare at Nita. "Madam, this is a military stronghold. Please leave immediately."

Nita tried to lunge after Zoe, but two guards instantly blocked her path. Nita wasn't some ignorant villager; she knew exactly what kind of facility this was, and she knew those guns weren't just for show.
