I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 633

She was determined to drag the mastermind out of the shadows, figure out who they were, and uncover exactly what they wanted.

As the night deepened, everyone gathered in the living room to chat.

Garrett loved a full house, especially since Zoe and her kids moved in. The Kendall Estate was constantly filled with the joyful sounds of children.

Lily treated little Ian like her most prized possession.

From the moment she got home from school, all her attention was focused on him, feeding him water, hugging him, and coaxing him. She was just as attentive as the hired nanny.

"Is it true that the company went bankrupt?"

As the conversation flowed, the topic inevitably shifted to the Thorne family.

Sylvia could tell that Hayden's shadow no longer loomed over Zoe, which gave her the courage to bring it up.

They were deeply concerned about the woman who had schemed against Zoe at every turn.

Since she was the legal representative of the company, surely she deserved to be punished.

"Yeah, the public notice was issued. Sienna's name is on the blacklist, but she fled the country before the travel ban could take effect."

Sylvia frowned. "She ran fast. Is it possible someone on the inside tipped her off and arranged an escape?"

They all knew the answer, but felt it was too insensitive to say it out loud in front of Zoe.

Zoe smiled faintly. She fed little Ian a sip of warm water and gently wiped his mouth.

"It's highly likely Hayden orchestrated the whole thing. A bankruptcy of that magnitude, with that much debt, yet when the dust settles, my lawsuit is the only unresolved issue she faces. Aside from the Thorne family, no one has the power to pull off something so flawless."

Zoe was genuinely curious about the full extent of Hayden's background, realizing it allowed Sienna to commit such a catastrophic crime and walk away unscathed.

"It seems owing millions of dollars means nothing to her," Zoe remarked, completely devoid of any sisterly affection for Sienna.

"Indeed."

It was just a pity Zoe couldn't track her down and interrogate her face-to-face about what really happened six years ago.

The butler stepped into the living room, and all conversation ceased as everyone turned to look at him.

"Mr. Thorne has arrived."

Mr. Kendall Sr. and Sylvia exchanged a sharp look. Arthur leaned heavily on his cane, his voice grim. "Did he say what he wants?"

The butler reported dutifully, "Mr. Thorne brought luggage. He claims he has an Executive Mandate. The guards have already let his car through the gates."

Garrett's jaw dropped. Zoe instinctively pulled little Ian closer, a sudden wave of tension gripping her chest.

Everyone in the room knew exactly what an Executive Mandate meant.

Just one look at his sharp features proved he carried the Thorne bloodline.

There was no need for a DNA test.

Meeting a stranger for the first time, little Ian stared at Hayden with wide, curious eyes.

Noticing this, Lily reached out and covered her baby brother's eyes.

"Don't look, Ian. We don't look at trash."

Sylvia quickly signaled the nanny to take the two children upstairs.

Without waiting for an invitation, Hayden made himself at home and sat down on the sofa.

He tossed a classified folder onto the coffee table.

"Ms. Lynd's status is highly classified. Command HQ assigned Officer Quinn to protect her, but they remain uneasy. Therefore, I have volunteered to take up permanent residence here to pro-tect-Ms.-Lynd."

He dragged out the final words, his voice low and heavy.

It was as if he was ensuring every single syllable was carved into their minds.

Zoe scoffed. "Hayden, I don't need your protection. There are armed guards outside, and Officer Quinn is with me nearly twenty-four hours a day. I'm not going to die."
