Zoe was taken aback by how casually Hayden mentioned divorce.

Come to think of it, she really didn't have much of a reason.

Lately, his behavior hadn't been terrible. He bought her clothes, took care of her when she was sick, and even applied ointment to her wounds every day after hurting her.

He also picked Lily up from school.

Except for that time at the Thorne Estate when he told her to get lost—

Zoe suddenly remembered.

"What about you defending outsiders and insulting Lily and me? Does that count?"

And then there was that moment at the company where he kissed Sienna.

She hadn't gotten a clear look, but their posture was undeniably intimate.

She would just assume they were kissing.

Hayden's dark eyes grew silent for a moment, as if he was contemplating or recalling something.

After a long pause, Zoe pushed him away.

He had protected Sienna in front of all those people. Was he even still her husband?

"You and Sienna were meant to be together anyway. I don't blame you."

Zoe started speaking out of spite.

Hayden scoffed, his words dripping with mockery.

"What right do you have to blame me or her? After all—"

He dropped the words like a bombshell.

Zoe felt her very soul tremble.

"You were the one who stole me from her back then. You sure have a short memory."

Hayden stepped back, putting some distance between them.

Zoe blinked, completely refusing to believe what he was saying.

She didn't think she was that kind of person.

"But you were supposed to marry Sienna."

Hayden shoved one hand into his pocket, a thick layer of sarcasm curving his lips.

"So you drugged me, slept with me, and made sure everyone knew about it. If Sienna had some resentment, wouldn't that be justified?"

Zoe bit her lower lip, carefully mulling over every word he said.

Why did it sound so incredibly surreal to her ears?

She drugged Hayden, and on the night before his wedding to Sienna, no less.

"Shouldn't you ask your best friend? She was the one who came up with the brilliant idea and gave you the drugs to sleep with me."

"We have dogs at home?"

Hayden scoffed coldly. "We will if she climbs the wall again."

He let go of Zoe, straightened his clothes, and walked out the door.

Hearing the sound of a car engine starting in the courtyard, Zoe knew he was really leaving this time.

Thinking of Nadia, Zoe remembered her uncle.

He looked quite intimidating.

She quickly dialed Nadia's number, but no one answered.

Sitting in Asher's car, Nadia looked a bit pathetic.

"Asher, you don't understand."

Asher didn't give her a chance to continue.

With both hands resting on the steering wheel, he stared intently at the main road ahead.

"From today on, you're staying at my place. I've already sent someone to pack your bags."

Nadia struggled desperately. Asher seemed to be taking this way too seriously.
