For several consecutive days, York personally delivered her meals, making her come downstairs to eat.

Although Gillian complied, she ate in cold silence, practically ignoring him.

That day, York stood outside the RV smoking for a long time. His tall, elegant figure drew stares from passersby.

The man's expression was somber. He couldn't figure out why his wife had suddenly turned so utterly frigid toward him, lacking even the slightest emotional reaction.

He slowly exhaled a cloud of smoke. Through the haze, he saw Gillian walking down. Frowning, he put out his cigarette, took her laundry, and followed her into the RV.

The interior of the RV was dead silent, save for the occasional clink of silverware against the plates.

"What do you want to eat tomorrow?" he asked suddenly.

Gillian kept her focus on her food, her expression indifferent. "Anything is fine. Whatever you arrange."

York frowned. He hated when she spoke to him so formally.

He stared at her pale, slightly haggard face. She wasn't argumentative or radiant like before; she looked like a walking corpse.

He hated seeing her like this.

He raised his gaze, his dark eyes locking onto her face. His voice softened slightly but carried a hint of suppressed anger. "Gillian, what exactly are you throwing a tantrum about?"

Lately, he had been incredibly patient with her, but she showed zero appreciation.

"Am I throwing a tantrum?" Gillian glanced at him. "Haven't I done everything you asked me to do?"

York let out a low groan, his brows knitting together. He was clearly running out of patience. "I bring you food every day and eat with you. Are you still not satisfied?"

"You're busy. You don't need to bother with me. I managed perfectly fine on my own before."

"Gillian," York called her name, his tone sharp and serious. "Are you still blaming me for taking your pregnancy supplements and giving them to Hailey when I didn't know you were pregnant?"
