Gillian: "....."
She knew it. The moment Evelyn confronted Hailey, York immediately assumed she was the mastermind behind it. But she honestly didn't have that kind of free time.
"York Foster!" Seeing her son treat his wife with such hostility, Evelyn glared at him in rage. "Is this how the Foster family raised you? To cheat on your wife and then arrogantly scream at her in public?"
"I was the one who wanted to see that girl. Why are you blaming Gillian?" Evelyn looked at him with profound disappointment. "You better cut ties with that woman in there right now. Otherwise, I won't be nearly as polite next time. The Foster family will absolutely never allow a mistress to step foot through our doors!"
"Are you satisfied now?" York glared coldly at Gillian, his eyes burning with fury, entirely blaming her for exposing Hailey and bringing Evelyn in for backup.
Gillian felt completely wrongfully accused. He was the one creating this entire mess, yet he was dumping all the blame right onto her head.
She was so angry she actually laughed. Just as she opened her mouth to speak, the man spun around, marched right back into the hospital room, and slammed the door shut.
It was a private VIP suite, meaning Hailey was the only patient.
With the door shut, he had completely locked them out.
Evelyn frowned. "He's completely lost his mind!"
"Evelyn..." Gillian started. "He's never loved me."
She felt she deserved this reality. She never should have forced her way into a marriage with York in the first place.
Evelyn spoke up. "Gillian, love or no love, he is still your husband. You have every right to rein him in. How can you just let a mistress parade around like this?"
Rein him in?
To Gillian, the idea was an absolute fantasy.
