Xavier Sterling was a legendary lawyer in the country. Despite his young age, his reputation was stellar, mostly handling high-stakes international cases.
"He's overseas all year round. Are you sure he has a solid grip on domestic divorce law?"
Gillian was uneasy; the Foster family was not an easy opponent to take down.
"Don't worry, I looked into it. Xavier is extremely picky about his cases, but once he takes one, he never loses."
"Got it."

Early the next morning.
As soon as Gillian arrived at work, a nurse rushed over frantically. "Director Jordan, thank God you're here! Dr. Sinclair caused another disaster—"
"One of your patients wasn't due yet, but she listened to the family insisting on a lucky hour this morning. Dr. Sinclair induced her early. But the patient is having a difficult labor, and her blood pressure and oxygen levels are crashing. She's in the operating room waiting right now!"
Gillian's temple throbbed.
She tossed her breakfast aside and sprinted to the operating room.
Two hours later, the patient underwent a C-section and delivered a baby boy.
When Gillian walked out, the family was shouting about filing a complaint, insisting the baby should have been delivered naturally!
Gillian said firmly, "If she had a natural birth, the mother would have died."
"That's none of your business!" The patient's mother-in-law shoved Gillian violently. "You heartless doctor!"
Caught off guard, Gillian stumbled backward and crashed into a familiar embrace.
York grabbed her wrist to steady her.
"Director Jordan—" Hailey arrived just in time to see her in York's arms. She froze. "Why are you in my boyfriend's arms?"
"Dr. Sinclair, perfect timing! You told us the baby could be delivered naturally at nine this morning, but then they sliced her open!" The furious mother-in-law glared. "You owe us an explanation!"
-
The incident blew up and was escalated to the hospital president.
