I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 105

Paxton had called Chloe? He asked Chloe to bail him out?

Chloe was wearing an off-white trench coat, her hair flowing freely as usual.

She looked flustered, but she was forcing her steps to remain steady, desperately trying to maintain her composure.

Trailing closely behind her was a man in a dark grey overcoat, the fading bruises on his face still visible.

Finn Fletcher.

They had rushed over right after the dinner ended.

When Chloe took the call and pleaded, "Paxton's in trouble, please come with me," he had initially refused.

She had tried to manipulate him by playing the victim:

"It's fine if you don't go. I'll just have to deal with it all by myself."

He still hadn't agreed.

Because they were in the middle of the dinner Yolanda had organized for him.

Ford and Felicia were there too.

Chloe had immediately brought up *that* issue again. Left with no choice, he had to give her face.

So he tagged along.

Finn had only come to go through the motions, acting as an unwilling prop.

But then his gaze suddenly dropped.

He saw Sienna.

He froze, rubbing his eyes in absolute disbelief.

It was actually Sienna!

Sienna stared back at him, feeling the sheer absurdity of the situation.

Why was it that no matter where she hid, this man haunted her every step?

"Finn, this is Paxton, my late father's youngest student. Finn?"

Finn didn't even look at her. He didn't hear a single word she said.

His gaze cut right past Chloe, past the officers, locking intensely onto Sienna.

He couldn't look away.

She was sitting on the hard wooden bench, having swapped her white coat for a light blue woolen overcoat. Her hair was twisted up in a messy bun. Her eyes were bright, and her face was a bit pale, but she wasn't crying.

She just sat there, quiet and still, as if the chaos around her didn't exist.

Chloe followed Finn's line of sight.

She went rigid.

Before she could stop herself, the words slipped out:

"Why is she here?"

A heavy lump formed in her throat.

Her nose stung, and hot tears instantly welled up in her eyes. She wanted to sob.

She had to bite down hard on her tongue, using sheer physical pain to force back the fierce wave of tears.

Finn Fletcher. The man she had fallen in love with at first sight.

The man she had chosen as her family.

They had been so deeply connected, holding onto each other. She had once truly believed they would build a life together, have children, and spend forever by each other's side.

That they would weather every storm life threw at them.

For those three years, Sienna had poured her entire heart into treating Finn like her true family.

So, when Finn betrayed her and walked away.

It became nearly impossible for her to trust anyone ever again.

She kept her guard up against anyone who tried to get close, completely locking away her heart.

She had even convinced herself that she had lost the ability to love, and that she no longer deserved to be loved.

But right now, in this exact moment, watching Finn desperately run toward her.

The desolate wasteland of her heart felt a sudden, treacherous spark of life.

Just as Finn was about to reach out and touch Sienna.
