Bang, bang, bang!
Sienna turned her head, seeing Lily's face pressed against the car window, her eyes wide.
Looking as though she had found her savior, she pounded frantically on the glass.
"Lily! Lily!"
Finn sat back, took a deep breath, and unlocked the doors.
She shoved the door open, practically throwing herself out, and stumbled right into Lily's arms.
Lily caught her, looking her up and down.
Sienna's bun had come undone, her messy hair falling over her shoulders. Her coat collar was crooked, and her eyes were bloodshot. She looked utterly disheveled, clearly the victim of bullying.
Finn stepped out of the car. A fresh scratch marked his face, trailing from his cheekbone all the way down to his jaw.
Lily's expression darkened with fury.
She pointed at Finn, her voice loud enough for the entire street to hear.
"Finn Fletcher! The 5th Precinct isn't far from here, and they should lock you up! Regretting your marriage now, are you? Running back here to play the devoted lover, and now that you can't have her, you're trying to force yourself on her?
You should be thrown in a cell, you piece of trash!"
Finn took the verbal thrashing without a word, his gaze fixed entirely on Sienna.
Lily stepped protectively in front of Sienna.
"What are you looking at? Where was this energy before? Keep staring and I'll gouge your eyes out! If you want to look at someone, go look at your precious Chloe! Your darling wife is a pathological liar. She's the real homewrecker, yet she parades around telling the whole world that Sienna is the other woman. You two are a match made in hell!"
Sienna gently tugged at Lily's hand, her voice slightly hoarse.
"Enough. I'll explain everything when we get back."
Only then did Lily cease her yelling.
It was at that moment Sienna finally noticed there was someone else standing behind Lily.
The atmosphere instantly shifted into profound awkwardness.
"Director... Holloway?"
Isaac stood there in a dark jacket, holding his car keys with a somewhat uncomfortable expression.
His gaze flickered between Finn and Sienna before he looked down and cleared his throat softly.
Sienna shot Lily a confused look.
Lily finally explained,
"Halfway there, I realized you might have been lying to me and had no one to bail you out! I immediately called your hospital to get Isaac's number. When I finally reached him, I found out you never even called him."
Lily hugged Sienna protectively.
Her heart was still racing, but her hands had finally stopped shaking.
Lily grabbed her hand, finding it freezing cold.
She didn't ask any questions, nor did she say a word.
That night, Lily stayed over at Sienna's place.
Right before bed, Lily spoke up.
"Bestie, I think Isaac is a great guy. You have no idea how worried he was when he heard about what happened to you."
"Oh," Sienna mumbled, her eyes already shut.
Lily sat up in bed.
"He likes you."
Sienna reached over to cover her friend's mouth.
"Stop talking nonsense and go to sleep."
Unwilling to drop it, Lily pushed on.
"I'm serious! No boss cares about a subordinate that much. He cares about you way too much. It's obvious he has feelings for you."
Sienna simply put in her earplugs and rolled over.
