I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 162

She stood up and looked down at Isaac.

"They're stuck in traffic. It's going to be a while, so I'm going to stretch my legs."

Isaac gave a slight nod.

Sienna immediately turned to leave. In her rush, the hem of her skirt caught on the chair leg. She pitched forward abruptly, bracing for impact, when a firm grip suddenly caught her around the waist.

It was Isaac. He had reached out and steadied her.

Sienna felt the upward momentum haul her right back, sending her colliding squarely into his chest.

The position was dangerously intimate.

Panic flared in her chest, and she shoved him away instantly.

She pushed a bit too hard, stumbling back a couple of steps. Heat flooded her cheeks.

The terrace was completely empty except for the two of them. A gust of wind swept across the rooftop, tossing the loose strands of hair across her forehead.

She reached up to brush them away, her fingertips tracing the line from her cheekbone to tuck the hair behind her ear.

Isaac didn't step back. He simply stood there, watching her with a dark, intense gaze.

There was nothing about Sienna that screamed for attention, yet it was impossible to look away from her.

Her allure was entirely effortless.

"Sienna, you heard what I said in the car, didn't you?"

Isaac's voice was low, but in the quiet of the rooftop, every word rang clear.

Sienna's breath hitched.

She had no idea how to answer.

Taking in her silence, he offered a bitter smile.

"Your reaction... I think I understand where you stand."

Sienna lifted her chin to meet his eyes.

"Director Holloway, I..."

"Could you stop calling me Director? Just use my name." His gaze was searing.

The intensity of his stare burned her, and she quickly looked away.
