I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 193

Maeve let out a low laugh.

The tiger cub under her hands suddenly went entirely still, lying as obediently as a house cat.

She locked the enclosure, washed her hands, and pointed to a wooden chair. "Sit."

Sienna sat down, separated from Maeve by a narrow desk.

"Everyone has their own fate." Maeve poured two glasses of water, sliding one to Sienna and keeping the other for herself.

"Finn meeting you in this lifetime, whatever tangled history the two of you share, that is your destiny. It's out of my hands."

Sienna accepted the glass but did not take a sip.

Maeve studied Sienna intensely.

"You're far too green, girl. Charging in recklessly like this, you won't stand a chance against Yolanda."

Sienna opted not to mention the damning evidence she already possessed. Instead, she looked Maeve squarely in the eye.

"You hate Yolanda too, don't you, Maeve?"

Maeve smirked.

"The history between her and me is far more complicated than you could ever imagine."

Sienna's eyes brightened. She had guessed right.

"Which means you're going to help me."

Maeve scoffed dismissively.

"What gives you that idea?"

Sienna leaned in slightly.

"There isn't a mother in the world who doesn't love her son. You spent years moving between international rescue stations, hopping from country to country. Your sudden return to Metropolis after all this time has to be for a reason. You want to acknowledge Finn, don't you?"

Sienna caught the subtle flicker in Maeve's eyes as she finished speaking.

Bingo. Another correct assumption.

"Maeve, you obviously have your reservations, but I can assist you. Better yet, we can work together on this."

Maeve's hand paused on the water pitcher. She raised her eyes.

"You're a smart girl."
