The next morning.
A gleaming Rolls-Royce occupied the hospital director's reserved parking space.
The vehicle was imposing and jet-black, the silver Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament catching the morning sun.
Silas sat in the back seat, a tablet resting on his lap, the screen's cool light illuminating his sharp features.
Standing outside the car, Sienna hesitated for a split second before pulling open the opposite door.
"Good morning, Mr. Hayes."
Silas didn't look up from his screen.
"Get in."
Sienna slipped inside, pressing herself close to the door, keeping a solid foot of distance between them.
The interior was dead quiet, save for the low, powerful hum of the engine. The rich scent of premium leather filled the cabin, carrying an aura of cold, untouchable wealth.
"How many people in your family?"
Sienna kept her hands folded neatly in her lap.
"Just my parents and my younger brother."
"What are their professions?"
Sienna was baffled. Why was the CEO interrogating her about her family background?
Still, she answered honestly.
"My parents are regular blue-collar workers. My brother just graduated high school."
Silas swiped a finger across his tablet, his eyes never leaving the screen.
"Are you currently single?"
Sienna's heart skipped a beat.
Wasn't this on her HR intake forms?
It felt like she was being run through a bizarre secondary job interview.
"Yes. I'm single."
Silas asked nothing more.
Sienna stared out the tinted window, her mind racing with confusion.
She was a low-ranking attending physician on her second day. Having the CEO personally escort her to retrieve an HR file was already wildly unprecedented. Now he was probing into her personal life?
Was this standard corporate culture for billionaires?
She truly had no idea.
"Add my number."
Sienna whipped her head around to look at him.
