I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 223

The hospital room fell dead silent.

Finn shifted uncomfortably, and a Hello Kitty sticker peeled off his collarbone.

He lowered his eyes, rolling the sticker between his fingertips, lost in thought.

Sienna immediately denied it. "No."

"Then why does he keep staring at you?" Maya tilted her head, looking profoundly mysterious.

She placed a tiny hand under her chin. "This is highly suspicious."

"Maya, stop messing around," Finn finally spoke up.

He pinched one of the buns on her head. "If you keep acting out, I'm telling your dad."

"Finn is a huge jerk! Let me rephrase—you and this pretty lady definitely aren't married. You're not good enough for her!"

Finn didn't look at Sienna. He stared down at the Hello Kitty sticker in his hand and nodded solemnly. "You're right. I'm not good enough."

Sienna's heart clenched with a sharp pang.

She took the stethoscope from around her neck, coiled it up, and slipped it into her pocket.

Having reviewed all of Finn's test results for the day, she said, "You're cleared for discharge today."

She then turned to Maya. "Where are your parents? I'll take you to them."

Maya's eyes brightened. "Okay!"

Saying that, she held out a chubby little hand.

A wave of maternal instinct washed over Sienna.

Maya was breathtakingly adorable, with flawless, rosy cheeks like a sweet peach.

It was impossible not to adore a little girl like her.

Sienna reached out and gently took the soft, warm hand, which perfectly fit inside her own.

They left the room together.

Maya led Sienna onto the elevator and straight to the Director's office.

Sienna had already figured it out. "Director Hayes is your dad."

Maya put her hands on her hips, lifting her chin proudly. "Scared now, aren't you?"

Sienna laughed. She crouched down, wrapping her arms around Maya's small frame in a gentle hug. "Why would I be scared? Why are you trying to act so grown-up?"
