I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 237

The Concord Hotel was right next to the hospital. You could walk there through the skybridge in under ten minutes.

But a hotel room was far too suggestive a setting.

If she refused, would she completely offend him?

Sienna stood there, gripping her phone for a long time.

Ultimately, she typed out a text:

[Mr. Hayes, thank you again for my father. I will repay the expenses. I won't be coming to the hotel. I'm going to sort everything out and return to the capital as quickly as possible so I don't hold up work.]

She hit send.

Tucking her phone away, she pushed through the stairwell door and headed back to the suite.

Inside, Lydia was peeling an orange on the sofa.

Seeing Sienna walk in, she took one look at her dark expression, popped the orange slice into her mouth, and kept quiet.

Sienna walked to the bed, pulled the blanket up over her father, and started packing up the items on the nightstand.

"What are you doing?" Lydia asked.

"Packing. He's moving to a standard ward tomorrow."

Lydia opened her mouth to argue.

Sienna didn't even look at her as she spoke.

"I will handle Dad and Noah. But if you mention Mr. Hayes one more time, I will walk out that door right now."

Lydia snapped her mouth shut.

That night, Sienna sat on a bench in the hallway.

The VIP suite only had one guest bed, which Lydia claimed.

A nurse came by and asked if she wanted a cot brought in, but she declined.

The fluorescent hallway lights were blindingly bright.

She leaned back, closed her eyes, and made do for another night.

The next day.

Sienna transferred her father back to a standard ward.

The standard ward was on the seventh floor, an eight-bed room with a shared bathroom. No leather sofas, no flowers, no fresh fruit.

The older man in the next bed coughed violently all night, and the elderly woman across the room hammered her call button at three in the morning.

Disgusted by the noise, Lydia tolerated it for half the day before snapping, "Just talk to Mr. Hayes and get us moved back to the VIP room. Why should we suffer like this?"

Sienna shot her a withering glare.

"This is the class you belong to. What gives you the right to VIP treatment?"

Lydia's face twisted in outrage.

"What is that supposed to mean? You look down on your own mother? Think we're pathetic losers?"
