"Sienna," Finn called her name.
Sienna's heart skipped a beat.
Finn shifted slightly toward her.
The sofa dipped, and her body tilted involuntarily.
Sienna tensed completely, her fingers curling even tighter.
He shifted a little closer.
Their shoulders were practically touching.
"Finn," her voice was soft. "You should go."
Outside, night had fully fallen. The glow of the streetlights squeezed through the crack in the curtains, painting the entire room in a dim, amber hue.
Darkness always carried its own ambiguous atmosphere, sketching everything in a haze of intoxicating allure.
Finn's silhouette blurred in the low light; only his eyes remained piercingly bright.
"I... don't want to go." His voice was low, hoarse, draped in a layer of temptation.
Like cotton soaked in liquor, it pressed softly yet suffocatingly against her chest.
Sienna nearly drowned in it.
She lowered her eyes, took a deep breath, and reached out to push him away.
But the moment her hand touched his chest, he caught it.
Finn pressed her hand flat against his chest.
Beneath her palm, Sienna felt hard, solid muscle. Through the thin fabric, his heartbeat pounded fiercely against her skin.
She used to rest her head right there; she had listened to that very heartbeat countless times.
"Don't do this," her voice was faint. "Noah could come back any minute."
"He won't," his voice rumbled low.
"How do you know?"
He didn't answer.
That kid was currently playing PS5 at his place.
When Finn left, the TV was on, the console was running, and the controller was on the table.
The kid was going to be occupied for at least another hour.
"Sienna," he called her again.
