The private room remained completely silent for a full ten seconds.
Sebastian held his half-empty glass, his hand frozen mid-air.
The smile on his lips stiffened, but he tried to maintain his composure. When he spoke, his voice was tighter than before.
"Mr. Hayes, I was just saying..."
"Shut up."
Silas's expression turned terrifyingly cold.
Those two words weren't loud, but everyone in the room felt an overwhelming, bone-chilling pressure radiate from him.
Sebastian's smile completely collapsed. His mouth hung open, but the rest of his words died in his throat.
"Mr. Hayes, as someone younger..." His voice cracked, desperately scrambling for a way out. "I respect you. How could you..."
Silas didn't let him finish.
He picked up the napkin from the table and slowly wiped his fingers.
"Sienna Sterling's name is not some casual gossip for you to throw around. You know her relationship with me, so watch your mouth. Otherwise, don't blame me for what happens next."
With that, he tossed the napkin aside.
He stood up and, without giving anyone in the room a second glance, walked straight toward the door.
After the door clicked shut, the room remained dead silent for a few more seconds before erupting.
One of the older men at the table frowned, his voice low and laced with anger.
"Listen here, nephew. Did you come here tonight to eat, or to ruin everything? Don't you know who Silas Hayes is? And you dare bring up his girlfriend?"
Sebastian's face flushed red, then went pale.
"What did I say? I was just giving him a friendly warning!"
"Warning him about what?" another senior figure chimed in. "Does he look like he needs your warnings? Who do you think you are? You just ruined a perfectly good dinner."
The others remained silent, but their expressions were equally grim.
If it weren't for the sake of giving the Beaumont family some face, they would have already walked out.
Sebastian's face turned livid. He had never been so humiliated in his entire life.
By the time he returned to the Beaumont mansion, it was already very late.
