Sienna lowered her gaze, staring at the teacup in her hands.
The tea had gone cold, its color much darker than when it was first poured, resembling a stagnant pool of dried blood.
Her finger traced the rim of the cup, entirely motionless.
She finally raised her eyes to look at Walter.
"Mr. Vane, since you consulted for Silas, you should know the basic rule of client confidentiality. Why are you telling us all of this now? What's your endgame?"
Walter chuckled.
"Just consider it a sudden crisis of conscience. My only job was to speak the truth; whether you believe it or not is entirely up to you."
He set down his cup and stood up. The hem of his dark grey tunic brushed his knees, remaining perfectly still as he walked.
He gave Felicia a nod, cast one last glance at Sienna, and turned to leave.
"Wait!" Felicia chased after him.
The hallway was completely empty. The man had vanished.
She walked back into the room like a ghost, her eyes dropping to the voice recorder on the table.
Then she looked at Sienna.
"Sienna, do you believe what he said?"
Sienna's gaze settled on Felicia's face.
"Do you know Silas?"
Felicia fell silent for a moment before clenching her fists, as if making a monumental decision.
"I'm not like Silas. He cares about the family's future, but I care more about Alistair's dying wish!"
She grabbed her purse and was about to storm out when she suddenly remembered something and turned back to Sienna.
"Sienna, your reaction today... you were so calm. A normal person wouldn't react like that hearing all this."
"I already knew about the horoscope thing."
Felicia froze, a look of worry crossing her face.
"Then... will what happened today ruin things between you and Silas?"
Sienna didn't answer.
She went downstairs with Felicia. They walked down the old street in total silence, neither saying a word.
High above the street, on the top floor of the teahouse.
Finn sat by the window, an untouched cup of tea resting in front of him.
His gaze was locked on the street below, tracing the slender silhouette walking out of the teahouse entrance.
Isaac sat across from him. He followed Finn's gaze out the window for a moment before pulling back and picking up his cup.
"Finn, I thought you despised playing dirty like this?"
