Isaac adjusted his glasses and tactfully stood up.
"Lily's waiting for me at home for dinner. I'll head out first."
He brushed past Sienna quickly, and the door clicked shut behind him.
Sienna stood in the doorway, making no move to step further inside.
She saw Finn sitting by the window.
The sunlight poured through the glass, resting heavily on his shoulders.
His gaze was fixed squarely on her, as if he had been waiting an eternity.
Sienna walked over and sat down across from him.
A freshly brewed pot of tea sat on the table. The tea set was slightly askew, with a half-empty cup of cold tea beside it.
She reached out to grab the tipped cup, intending to set it upright.
Finn reached out at the exact same time.
Their fingertips collided.
Her fingers were ice-cold; his were burning hot.
That spark of warmth transferred through their touch, like a sudden jolt of electricity.
Sienna snatched her hand back.
Finn pulled his hand away in the same instant.
He took the tipped cup away and placed a fresh one in front of her.
"You've lost weight," he said.
Sienna looked past Finn. Through the window, she could perfectly see the street below.
Was he watching her from up here just a moment ago?
She pulled her gaze back.
"You've got a lot of free time, Finn."
Finn picked up the kettle and started boiling water again.
Warming the pot, rinsing the cups, tossing in the leaves, pouring the water.
Sienna watched his hands.
His fingers were long, his knuckles distinctly defined. She was intimately familiar with every single inch of them.
She lowered her eyes, forcefully burying the surge of emotion threatening to rise.
"You've gotten far more calculating," she noted.
Finn tossed out the first pour and refilled the pot.
