As Sienna said this, her gaze flicked briefly toward Sasha.
Anyone with half a brain could tell she was referring to Sasha throwing herself at Finn.
Sasha's face instantly burned a violently bright red.
No one had ever dared to rip away her dignified facade so bluntly.
Always playing the polite, gentle socialite, Sasha finally lost her temper.
"Sienna Sterling! You're taking this way too far!"
"The ones taking things too far are you people. You Beaumonts really are all cut from the same twisted cloth."
Having said her piece, Sienna had no interest in dragging out the argument. She turned to leave.
Sylvester suddenly took a step forward, his words dripping with venom.
"I'm going to remember what you just said. A lot of people over at the Health Commission are friends of the Beaumont family. If you think you're going to sail through this exam, you'd better pray you actually have the luck for it!"
Sienna's fingers curled into fists.
Just then, a voice rang out from behind her.
"Sylvester Beaumont, did you really just threaten someone under my protection?"
Silas Hayes strolled up from behind her, looking effortlessly sharp in a light-colored casual suit, his pace unhurried.
He came to a stop right next to Sienna and locked eyes with Sylvester.
"What did you just say? Care to repeat it?"
Sylvester's entire demeanor drastically shifted.
He took a half-step back, his throat bobbing nervously.
"Mr. Hayes, this is just a personal matter between me and her..."
"Her matters are my matters." Silas cut him off, his voice dangerously even. "Threatening her means you're threatening me. Go ahead. Try it. Touch her, and let's see how long your little law firm stays open."
Sylvester went a shade paler, gritting his teeth without saying a word.
Sasha tugged at his sleeve, her voice barely a whisper.
"Sylvester, forget it. Let's just go."
