The committee members exchanged glances. The man seated in the center took the flash drive, but he didn't plug it in right away. When he spoke, his tone was entirely neutral.
"Mr. Fletcher, we heard your presentation and we have received your updated data. However, there will be no final decision today. The results will be announced in three days.
We've just been informed that there is a majority stakeholder tied to this land, and we are legally required to consult him.
He holds a sixty percent share. If he objects, any decision this committee makes is null and void."
Finn's brow furrowed heavily.
"Who is the majority stakeholder?"
"I'm afraid that information is strictly confidential."
By the time they walked out of The Financial Plaza, twilight had already fallen.
Lance walked beside Finn, his expression incredibly grim.
"How does a shadow stakeholder just magically appear? Why is every single thing we try to do ten times more complicated than it ever used to be?"
Finn didn't break his stride.
"Look into it. You have twenty-four hours to uncover everything there is to know about this westside plot. Send the files directly to me. I need to dissect them."
Terrence nodded and immediately hurried off.
Finn turned to Lance.
"You're taking the wheel at the office for the next few days. I am dedicating every waking second to this land deal."
Lance gave him a firm pat on the shoulder, didn't argue, and headed to his car.
The street suddenly felt quiet, leaving only Finn and Sienna standing on the sidewalk.
The streetlights flickered on, stretching their shadows long across the pavement until they overlapped.
It had been exactly twenty-four hours since they had run into each other in the park yesterday.
But the sheer intensity of those twenty-four hours made it feel like a lifetime had passed.
Both of their mindsets had entirely shifted.
Especially for Sienna. The phrase *'She is my life'* had anchored itself deep in her chest.
It carried a heavy, profound weight that she couldn't shake.
"What do you want to eat?" Finn asked.
"Anything is fine."
"Where do you want to go?"
