She had researched the Vance family before coming here.

For three generations, they had been a highly esteemed academic family. Percival Vance had served as the principal of a prestigious high school before becoming the president of Northern University, making them a very reputable family in the area.

He had one son and one daughter. The daughter was Yolanda Fletcher, and the son had gone abroad years ago, supposedly running a successful business.

But why did Georgina call Maeve her aunt?

"Isn't Yolanda your aunt?" Sienna asked.

Georgina didn't answer right away.

She stayed quiet for several seconds, looking as if she wanted to say something but didn't know how.

"You essentially saved my grandfather's life, but I don't know how to explain this. Yolanda is my aunt, but Maeve is also my aunt."

Sienna felt her head spin. She decided it was best to focus on the task at hand.

"Where is the document I'm supposed to retrieve?"

Georgina turned slightly.

"It's in the study. Follow me."

Although the Vance estate was dilapidated, its grand foundation remained.

The gray tiles and brick carvings above the lintel still displayed the intricate patterns of a glorious past. However, due to years of neglect, the paint on the window lattices was peeling, flaking off with every gust of wind.

The air smelled of aged wood mixed with dampness. In the corner, water damage bloomed across the wall in a sickening shade of yellow.

As Sienna stood there, a grayish-brown rat darted from beneath a pillar and vanished into a hole in the wall, moving as fast as a shadow.

Georgina didn't even bat an eye, clearly long accustomed to it.

"The way you examined my grandpa just now was really professional," Georgina said, standing beside her and turning her head. "You're a doctor, right?"

"Yeah."

"Could you teach me?" Georgina's eyes lit up, like a dusty pearl finally being polished. "I want to be a doctor too."

"How old are you?"

"Eighteen."
