I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 412

Georgina had a lot to say, chatting endlessly about a cat she had in elementary school, the neighbor's dog, and how she secretly saved up to buy her very first medical textbook.

The young girl chattered on with pure excitement until her voice gradually grew softer and faded into silence.

Sienna turned her head and saw that Georgina had fallen fast asleep.

Her eyelashes rested softly against her cheeks, her breathing light and steady. One hand still gripped the edge of the blanket tightly, as if she were terrified that something might slip away in her dreams.

Moonlight seeped through the cracks in the window frame, spilling over her face and washing her sharp, delicate features in a pale glow.

Sienna gently pulled her half of the blanket over Georgina to keep her warm, then pulled out her phone and scrolled through the photos she had taken earlier that day.

The paper was yellowed, the handwriting neat—it was a copy of a land transfer agreement.

The date indicated it was from over a decade ago. Both the transferor and transferee's names had been completely blacked out with ink, leaving only blurry, dark smudges.

She couldn't pinpoint any blatant legal issues, but the redacted names were an answer in and of themselves.

Early the next morning, Sienna taught Georgina some basic emergency first-aid and nursing skills.

After saying her goodbyes to the Vance family, she headed back to the city.

As the taxi drove from the outskirts into the bustling urban center, the scenery outside the window shifted frame by frame.

The winding mountain roads smoothed out into paved asphalt, the low gray-tiled houses grew into towering skyscrapers, and the small roadside vegetable stalls morphed into chain convenience stores.

The sunlight was exactly the same, but the way it felt against her skin was entirely different.

Sienna leaned against the car window. She herself was still adrift, her own future murky and unclear.

But a firm resolution was already taking shape in her mind: she was going to pull Georgina out of the mud.

Her phone rang. It was Finn.

She answered.

Finn's warm, gentle voice came through the speaker.

"Are you back? I'll come pick you up."

"Where are you?"

"At the Fletcher building."

"I'll come to you."

Just as Sienna was about to hang up, she heard a woman's voice through the receiver.
