Finn looked at her.

"If you don't have anything else to say, you should head back."

Sasha hurried after him, lifting the paper bag in her hand.

"You probably haven't eaten breakfast, right? I made this myself. Just try a little."

Finn didn't take it.

"No need. I've already eaten."

Sasha froze in place, and tears suddenly spilled from her eyes. She wept silently, looking like someone who had suffered a massive injustice but was too terrified to cry out loud.

Finn furrowed his brow.

"Why are you crying?"

"You're treating me differently than you used to." Her voice was feather-light, thick with a nasal sniffle. "Did I do something wrong? Is that why you're being like this?"

Finn stayed silent for a few seconds.

"You're overthinking it."

"Then why are you being so distant?"

Sasha had positioned herself at a very calculated angle.

Out of the corner of her eye, she had spotted Sienna stepping off a bus and walking in their direction.

The distance was perfect, and the timing was flawless.

Without wiping her tears, she softened her voice even more.

"Finn, I know you misunderstand me. You like Sienna, don't you? Don't worry, I never intended to get between you two. I just value our bond too much. I've always cherished our childhood memories, and the older I get, the more nostalgic I feel."

She paused, her voice dropping lower.

"Finn, have you forgotten? That summer when you had a terrible fever, no one else noticed. I was the only one who realized it. I got your medicine, I stayed up giving you cold compresses, and your fever broke that very night."
