I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 421

The doors opened.

One apartment per floor.

Sienna swapped her shoes and stepped inside, pausing for a moment.

Wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows offered a sweeping, unobstructed view of the city's nightscape unfurling beneath them.

But the apartment's interior design felt far too cold.

Cool-toned finishes, a deep grey sofa, corners devoid of any plants—it felt so hollow it seemed uninhabited, or perhaps as if the occupant was ready to move out at a moment's notice.

Much like Maeve herself, it appeared detached from a distance and even more apathetic up close.

"You two haven't eaten yet, right? Let's have a bite and chat."

Maeve said, walking toward the refrigerator.

Pulling the door open, she glanced sideways at Sienna.

"Sienna, come give me a hand. It'll be faster with two people."

Sienna stood rooted to the spot, remaining silent.

She didn't appreciate being ordered around, but Maeve was an elder and had just done Finn a massive favor. They would have future dealings.

Finn decisively intervened.

"Sienna doesn't know how to cook. I'll do it."

He was already heading toward the kitchen.

Maeve cast a glance at him but didn't object.

Sienna sat alone on the sofa. Looking out through the expansive windows, her mood lightened considerably.

Several books were scattered across the coffee table. The top one had curled edges, and its spine read *The Vance Family Records*.

She froze.

Reaching out, she flipped it open. Tucked inside were two old photographs.

One showed a young Percival Vance standing in front of an old residence. Beside him stood a little girl with twin braids, her eyes bright and lively.

It looked like Maeve.

A seven- or eight-year-old Maeve, standing beside Percival, looking up and smiling radiantly.

The other was a baby's hundred-day photo.

Written on the back were two words.

Georgina Vance.

"You've already met Percival and Georgina, haven't you?" Maeve's voice drifted from behind her.

Sienna didn't turn around.

Knowing Maeve's character, the items on the coffee table had been left there intentionally.

She maintained her composure, wanting to see exactly what Maeve was aiming for.

Maeve took a seat on the opposite end of the sofa.

Finn was in the kitchen behind a closed glass door, oblivious to their conversation.

Sienna placed the photo back inside the pages and turned to face her.
