"A seventeen-hundred-mile trip, a seven-hour round-trip flight. You've done this four or five times already. You've burned forty hours just on travel, all so you can personally set up a proposal for your girlfriend. Not bad," Isaac noted.
Finn smiled but didn't say anything.
As far as he was concerned, it was the bare minimum.
No matter how much he did for Sienna, he was more than willing. He only ever felt like he wasn't doing enough.
They arrived at noon.
The sun baked the ocean surface into a blinding sheet of blue that stretched from their feet all the way to the horizon.
Along the sandy beach, lights were staked into the ground every few feet. They followed the coastline, tracing the tide line with a winding golden border.
In the distance sat a white piano with its lid closed, giving off an air of mystery.
Further down was a pathway blanketed in flower petals. It extended from the edge of the sand all the way to the highest point the tide could reach. At the end of the path stood a floral archway, waist-high and wrapped in white tulle and delicate string lights.
The lights weren't on yet, but the strings had already been meticulously wound along the coast, waiting for their leading lady to arrive.
Isaac stood on the shore, admiring the view for a moment before turning to Finn.
"From absolutely nothing to this... it's really coming together. Even I feel a sense of accomplishment."
Finn crouched down to adjust the position of a light. Even a half-inch deviation required his personal touch.
He looked up.
"Don't forget to keep Lily happy. Her mind wanders easily. Don't let my secret cause another fight between you two."
Isaac waved him off with total confidence.
"Don't worry, I've got it under control."
Once Isaac finished helping, he started working on his own stuff.
