I Stopped Loving Him When He Let Me Bleed Out novel Chapter 92

Isaac sat across from him, watching in silence.

He had known Finn for over two decades and had never seen him like this.

The old Finn was calm, restrained, completely unfazed even if the sky were falling.

But the man sitting here now had a battered face, was downing liquor straight from the bottle, and couldn't tear his eyes away from his phone.

Whenever the screen lit up, he would snatch it up instantly, only to set it back down in defeat.

He looked like a trapped beast pacing a cage.

Xavier finally realized something was seriously wrong. He dropped his playful grin and sobered up.

"Man, what is really going on with you?"

Finn took another pull from his drink and slammed the bottle on the table.

He hung his head, staring at the wood grain in a long, heavy silence.

"I love a girl very, very much," he murmured, his voice so soft he seemed to be speaking to himself. "And I lost her. I failed her."

The bar was chaotic—the next table over was playing drinking games, the owner was tallying receipts, and a football game blasted from the TV.

Yet when Finn spoke those words, both Isaac and Xavier heard him with crystal clarity.

Xavier was stunned. He almost asked if it was Chloe, but swallowed the words right before they slipped out. He wasn't stupid.

After turning it over in his head, he finally spoke.

"Is it the one you dated in college? Your first love?"

Finn was getting drunk. He stared blankly at the social media app on his phone.

Xavier slapped his thigh in realization.

"I remember now! She was premed, a doctor. Hey, the 'she' you guys were just talking about—it's her, isn't it?"

Isaac, not wanting to say the wrong thing, kept his mouth firmly shut.

Finn suddenly let out a self-deprecating laugh.

"Yeah. Yeah, she's amazing. She's so incredible, so perfect... How could she be so good? And I'm just a total bastard!"

Xavier was completely floored.

He and Finn had been friends for over a decade.

This was the first time he had ever witnessed such a scene.

Finn had always been collected and composed, far more mature than the rest of their peers since they were kids.

But tonight, he had completely lost his mind.

Suppressing the urge to pull out his phone and record the spectacle, Xavier offered some comfort.

he muttered, furiously slapping his own chest and face.

Isaac and Xavier stared at him in horror.

If he kept hitting himself, he would permanently disfigure his face, completely ruining his chances.

"She still hasn't accepted my friend request..."

Finn stared at his phone screen, a profound wave of despair washing over him.

Isaac finally understood why he had been glued to the device all night.

He couldn't help but sigh.

Remembering Xavier's advice about being 'absolutely relentless,' Finn assumed Sienna was ignoring him because he simply wasn't trying hard enough.

He quickly typed out a new request note.

"Sienna, I'm begging you. I miss you so much. Please add me? Just take pity on me."

Isaac caught a glimpse of the text, but before he could stop him, Finn had already hit send.

Just when they all assumed it was a lost cause, a notification popped up on Finn's screen.

All three men instantly leaned in to look...
