Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 678

When Ryan finally arrived, Amelia was sitting at the edge of the bed, her fingers wrapped around Mr. Sadinton’s hand, which was already turning cold and stiff.

Ryan’s throat tightened. He moved quietly, almost afraid that any sound might shatter the stillness.

“Amelia…” His voice was low and rough, barely above a whisper.

Amelia lifted her head. Her eyes were swollen and red, all cried out, no tears left.

Ryan knelt down beside her, searching her pale, devastated face. The pain in his eyes was impossible to hide.

He gently tried to loosen her grip on Mr. Sadinton’s hand. When she didn’t pull away, he covered her icy fingers with his own, holding them tight.

“Ryan…” Amelia’s voice was soft and shaky. “I’m the only Sadinton left now.”

Without a word, Ryan pulled her into his arms.

Amelia managed a bitter little smile. “Well, I guess there’s still half a Sadinton left… my biological dad. I’ve never even met him.”

Ryan held her close for a moment. “We’ll find him,” he promised quietly. “I swear.”

For the next two days, Amelia threw herself into arranging Mr. Sadinton’s funeral. There was no one to call—no friends, no family. The biggest decision she made was to move her grandmother Nora out of the basement so she could be laid to rest beside her grandfather Tony.

Ryan stayed with her every step of the way. If she needed anything, he handled it before she could even ask—extra help, the burial plot, all of it. He even brought Donna and Timmy over to Maplewood Garden so someone could look after them.

The day they buried her grandparents, the sky was heavy and gray, and snowflakes drifted down, soft and silent.

Ryan stood next to Amelia, holding a black umbrella over both of them.

Even when Nora’s body was revealed, looking so young and untouched by time, Ryan stayed calm and steady.

“Grandpa told me once he couldn’t save the person he loved,” Amelia said quietly. “But you did.”

She looked up at Ryan, her eyes brimming with so many feelings it was hard to tell where one ended and another began. Her gaze was so full it felt like you could reach out and touch it.

Timmy, acting his age for once, was out in the yard with Donna, both of them building a snowman. His little hands were red from the cold.

Donna spotted them first. “Ma’am, Mr. Packman!” she called, smiling so wide her eyes nearly disappeared. She couldn’t help thinking how perfect the two of them looked together.

Timmy saw Amelia and took off running, throwing himself into her arms.

“Mommy!”

Timmy was a sharp kid—he noticed right away that something was wrong.

“Mommy, are you okay?” he asked, worry written all over his face.

Amelia forced a smile. “I’m fine, sweetheart. Just a little tired, that’s all.”

Ryan glanced at Donna as she came over and nodded. “Donna, could you draw a bath for Amelia?”
