Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 684

A blaring horn from the car behind snapped Amelia back to reality. She blinked, dragged her eyes off the screen, and eased her car forward, her face giving nothing away. The only sign of how she really felt was the way her hands gripped the steering wheel, knuckles white, veins standing out.

Her phone rang out of nowhere. Amelia glanced over, half hoping it was Ryan. It wasn’t. It was Diana, her best friend.

She slipped on her headset and answered, trying to sound as casual as she could. “Hey, Diana…”

Diana didn’t even let her finish. “Amelia, I have to tell you something, and it cannot wait. It’s about Ryan. First, just to check, you and Ryan are still together, right? You haven’t broken up?”

“Yeah, we’re together. What’s going on?”

Diana was calling from a bathroom stall, her voice sharp and low. “Okay, so listen. I was at this jewelry company today for a business meeting. The big boss there is Aaron—you know, the Morris family heir. He happened to be there for an inspection and sat in on my contract signing. That’s just the setup.”

“But here’s the thing—I was leaving out the back when I saw Ryan getting out of a car. He was there to see Aaron. But that’s not the weirdest part. He didn’t come alone. There was a woman with him. I did a little digging—it was Zoe, the shipping tycoon’s youngest daughter! A total heiress. And get this—they were wearing matching outfits!”

“Matching outfits?” Amelia echoed, her voice tight.

“Yeah, Ryan was wearing a black tie, and Zoe had on a black jacket. Okay, maybe that’s just a coincidence, but it’s the way she was looking at him. Seriously, she’s got a thing for him. And even if Ryan wasn’t looking at her, if he wasn’t interested, why would he show up in the same car as her?”

Amelia was quiet for a moment. “Thanks, Diana. I mean it. Thanks for telling me right away.”

“Come on, we’re best friends! Of course I’ve got your back. If Ryan actually cheats on you, I don’t care who he is—I will blast him all over my socials. And honestly, I just paid off my last debt last night, so I’m completely free now. If I have to burn some bridges, so be it.”

Amelia felt a rush of gratitude for her friend’s loyalty. She managed a small laugh. “Diana, you don’t need to worry. Ryan wouldn’t do that to me. I know he’s got a lot of business with Zoe’s dad, and she’s the family’s favorite…”

Diana switched lines.

“Diana, are you ready? We have to get to Keiran’s birthday dinner,” her agent said.

“Yeah yeah, I’m coming! Nature calls, you know? Wait for me in the car,” Diana replied.

She hung up and walked out of the bathroom, still rubbing her hands dry, her mind replaying everything she’d just seen.

“If Ryan dares do anything to hurt Amelia,” she muttered, “I’ll take him out myself. I’m not someone you mess with.”

Just outside, Aaron stepped out of the men’s room, pausing when he heard Diana’s unmistakable voice echoing through the hallway.
