Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 685

Diana...

Aaron pushed his glasses up with a small, barely-there smile and started walking, long legs eating up the distance. He glanced at his phone and checked his messages.

The last one was from Diana, sent last night.

A whole parade of ridiculous emojis.

“The last payment has been sent! Goodbye to my biggest creditor! From now on, you go your way, I’ll go mine. May we never meet again! ~”

There was even a little dancing cartoon at the end.

Aaron couldn’t help but laugh.

He went to reply, only to realize he’d already been blocked.

He raised his eyebrows. “Quick on the trigger, aren’t you…”

On the other side, Diana was fixing her hair in the mirror. She slipped on her mask and headed out.

From down the hall, she spotted the elevator doors starting to close.

“Hold the elevator!” she called out.

She couldn’t see anyone inside—just a slender, elegant hand reaching out to press the button, stopping the door from closing.

“People are still decent after all,” Diana thought, relieved. She jogged over, but just as she reached the elevator, something slipped under her foot. She lost her balance and stumbled straight inside.

She looked up—and there was Aaron, standing dead center.

Those sharp, deep-set eyes were impossible to miss. He glanced over coolly, and Diana felt a chill go down her spine. Before she could steady herself, Aaron’s two assistants blocked her, one on each side.

She managed to regain her balance and gave an awkward smile. “Sorry about that, Mr. Morris.”

Worried he’d think she was pulling some meet-cute stunt, she quickly took off her mask and introduced herself. “I’m Diana. We just met, remember? I promise I’m not here trying to throw myself at you or anything. I just slipped, that’s all.”

Sure, her dating experience was basically nonexistent, but she’d played every kind of role. Flirting was easy.

Aaron nodded. “Alright, then I’ll borrow you for a bit.” He checked his watch. “Just an hour. I have something for you.”

No way she was going to turn down such a golden opportunity.

“Of course. Let me just let my agent know.”

Aaron said, “My assistant will take care of it. Since I’m the reason you’ll be running late, I’m sure your agent will understand.”

“Thank you, Mr. Morris.”

Diana kept her cool on the outside, but the second she turned away, she couldn’t hide the huge grin on her face.

She wasn’t actually into Aaron, but getting attention from someone like him definitely tickled her ego. Plus, now she had the perfect chance to dig for dirt on Ryan and Zoe.
