Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 711

Back then, she wasn’t Diana. She was Jewel.

A bright, sun-kissed girl in a summer school uniform. Her pleated skirt swayed around her knees, fluttering like petals every time she ran. She passed right in front of his car, completely unaware anyone was watching from inside.

A moment later, the economist he’d hired walked out of the Brooks family’s house, suit perfectly pressed, and got into the car.

Back then, Aaron wasn’t anyone important. He was just the younger Mr. Morris.

“It’s confirmed, sir. Your brother really did invest all his funds.”

Once you sit in that seat, there’s no turning back.

Nathan was his only brother. The only one who could possibly threaten his claim as heir.

“If he won’t be satisfied just being your little brother, then make sure he disappears for good.” Lynn, his mother, had said that with a loving smile, calling out to Nathan as he raced around the field. “He’s just some bastard from outside. His mother had the sense to die in childbirth. Your father took pity on him and brought him home. If he behaves, I’ll treat him like a pet. But those old men have their own ideas…”

“Let me handle it, Mom,” Aaron had told her.

He never wanted to destroy the Brooks family. He just wanted to protect Nathan.

So when Nathan got caught up in the Brooks family’s financial scam, Aaron didn’t interfere. He let the mess snowball, quietly watching as Nathan lost two billion. Then Aaron stepped in to clean up.

After that day, Nathan was completely cast out by the family. But he was finally safe.

Aaron figured that was the end of it—until he saw the news about Richard Brooks jumping off a building.

Honestly, he never expected the Brooks family to pay back the debt.

That changed when Diana called.

Her voice was shaking, careful and polite. “Hello, I’m Richard Brooks’s daughter, Diana. I found your number in my dad’s notebook—he didn’t write your name, just ‘biggest creditor.’ There’s no amount listed either. Do you have an IOU? However much he owed, I’ll pay it back! I promise, I’ll pay every cent in installments!”

Aaron took off his sunglasses, rubbing the bridge of his nose.

He blurted out a number—maybe fifty million, maybe sixty. He honestly couldn’t remember. He didn’t care if she paid or not, but after that, Diana started sending him money, bit by bit, year after year. After ten years, she paid it all off.

That hit him with a wave of bitter irony.

He’d only wanted to save Nathan, but in the process, he’d destroyed another family.

Did he feel guilty?

Not really. Business was war. He’d seen too much, survived too many power plays and betrayals. Guilt and empathy felt like luxuries he couldn’t afford anymore.

“Tell him I’ve got a message for him. From Amelia’s best friend, Diana.”

“Hold on.”

A few seconds later, Ryan’s voice came through—tired, a little lazy. “Go ahead.”

Aaron repeated Diana’s words, every one.

Ryan chuckled. “She’s got a temper. Good. Amelia only has one friend like that. Aaron, don’t mess with her.”

Aaron was quiet for a second. “Have the side effects started messing with your brain?”

Ryan let out a dry laugh. “Come on. If you weren’t even a little interested in a woman, would you have the patience to listen to her talk that much?”

Aaron didn’t answer, just changed the subject. “I’m heading to Switzerland for a few days. I’ll be back soon.”

Ryan just grunted in response.

Aaron took a slow breath. “Ryan. If you’re going to die, wait for me to get back.”
