Karma Doesn’t Sleep The Revenge Queen Rises novel Chapter 710

Diana shot him a sweet, innocent grin and went straight for the compliments.

“Mr. Morris, you really are incredible. I hadn’t even said a word, and you already knew what I was about to ask! No wonder you’re called a genius in the investment world. You always see things coming before anyone else—so impressive!”

Aaron just looked at her in silence.

He was the type who didn’t care for flattery, and honestly, hardly anyone dared to butter him up. When they did, it was always subtle, almost hidden, nothing like the way Diana was laying it on thick right now. He’d never met anyone quite as bold about it as she was.

But strangely enough, he didn’t mind it.

Aaron leaned back in his chair, absentmindedly pushing his glasses up his nose as he watched Diana, who wore every thought on her face.

“Mr. Morris, tell me the truth. What’s really going on between Ryan and Zoe, the daughter of the shipping tycoon? Don’t worry, I’m great at keeping secrets. I’d never let anyone know you told me.”

Aaron eyed her, a small, amused smile tugging at his lips. “I’m not really interested in other people’s drama. Sorry, Ms. Brooks, but I don’t have anything for you.”

Diana’s face fell, but she wasn’t ready to give up yet. “But, Mr. Morris—”

Before she could finish, Aaron was already standing up, slipping on his jacket. “Thank you for dinner, Ms. Brooks. Let’s go.”

It was obvious he wasn’t going to spill any secrets tonight.

Fine, she thought, there’s always next time.

Diana brushed off her disappointment, waved goodbye to Collin and Mandy, and walked outside with Aaron.

They strolled under the streetlights, their shadows stretched out across the quiet sidewalk.

Aaron wasn’t much of a talker, but Diana had a habit of rambling whenever she got nervous.

“You know, Mr. Morris, you’re not nearly as scary as people say.”

He glanced over, clearly interested. “Oh? And what do people say about me?”

“Well, the marketing director at TN Jewelry told me once that having dinner with you was torture. He said your presence was so intense, no one could even eat,” Diana said, dead serious. “But now that I’ve actually had dinner with you, it’s not like that at all. Honestly, you’re kind of nice to watch when you eat.”

She wasn’t even trying to suck up—Aaron had really good table manners.

Aaron listened, the hint of a smile on his lips. “So my reputation is that bad, huh? Wasn’t the TN marketing director’s last name Cai?”

“Yeah, Director Cai.”

Aaron nodded, seeming to remember.

“Next time you see him, tell him if he’s got any feedback, he can just tell me directly. If I can improve, I will. If not, I’ll take it in stride.”

Diana was genuinely impressed. For someone at his level to be this open-minded—it was rare.

At the next corner, Aaron’s driver was waiting by the car.

Aaron looked at Diana. “Where are you headed, Ms. Brooks? I can drop you off.”

He smiled to himself, slipped the card into his pocket, and got in his own car.

The sleek black car sped off into the night.

Aaron checked the stock market on his tablet, then set it aside and glanced out the window.

Suddenly, he spotted Diana’s face again, bright and larger than life on a bus stop ad.

His eyes darkened, and he murmured quietly, “Jewel… it’s probably for the best that you don’t know who I am.”

The truth was, ten years ago, during the Brooks family scandal, Aaron hadn’t been the one who got caught up in the mess.

That was Nathan.

Nathan had dumped two billion into that scheme, and Aaron was the one who’d cleaned it up, taking the debt onto himself.

Because of that, the few family elders who’d supported Nathan turned their backs on him for good.

From then on, Aaron became the only rightful heir.

He closed his eyes, memory drifting back ten, maybe eleven years, to a hot summer day.

He remembered sitting in a car, catching a glimpse of Diana for the very first time…
